Hey everyone...,
This is one of those lyrical works where I use some odd symbolism... A pentimento is an image in a painting, that has been painted over before, but emerges again through time. A long time ago, I felt my life was very worthwhile... I could see that. Then, for years, I couldn't anymore. I've regained that sight within this last year, and so that's how I connected my realizations to a pentimento. Title = "Welcoming Pentimento".
Dearly, I...
hold onto misery, no
longer claiming my...
smile as, one so captive.
I do find that...
even though memories glow...,
they can lead to brighter light,
no matter how dim
times were...
I keep my life lived
close to heart.
(Chorus):
I am who I... am,
because of each
good and bad experience, absorbed...
In knowing this,
there's warmth...
returned.
Clearly, my...
dwelling on history of
painted over skies...
had hid, them even further.
Retraced lines...
have served to show that there's so
much that I've denied
about how great
times were...
So, now my life lived, lies
closer to heart.

With the overall image re-emerged,
and re-embraced,
importance is recovered,
and framed.

This was another experiment.... lol. It sounds kinda' like light, funk-rock type stuff, and I'm pretty satisfied with how it sounds. Hopefully some of you will like it too. Later!  |
