Hey people...,
I didn't know this was gonna' be a "part one" kinda' thing, but that's what the last minute decision was, with writing it. It's about looking back on everything, and the title I chose for it is "The Ride, Pt. 1". I wrote it on late Tuesday night...
"The Ride, Pt. 1"
-RiCk, "RiCterMan," Strayer, fecit.
With an arrow in reversal
on yesterday's road signs,
I traveled empty circles,
around and into sharp decline.
My headlights faded quickly,
and somehow black became a fog.
With clarity, the end of circles
held me still, in an empty car.
Although clarity
kept me alive,
it couldn't let me be free
from newfound confusion-
I thought, "How do I move...?"
"I never-"
(Short Interlude, envisioned)
(Repeat all previous lyrics)
But confusion wasn't over direction,
rather "rear view
complications" unfolded
into newer worries of whether
"when?" would ever really
come to be
an answer that I could reach.
-No expected, surprise solution.
Without effort the journey is stupid.
-And I could see the car in flames.
I need to get out.
Although clarity
kept me alive,
I couldn't set myself free
from the pounding confusion-
I thought, "How do I move...?"
"I never-"
(Next three lines repeat once):
I never meant to get stuck.
-never meant to get stuck.
I never wanted a joyride.
I made it out, and it's time to-...........

I'm not sure I'll even write a second part to this... It could just be left like this, even though the last line may lead to wonder. I can't be at all sure anyone will ever be led to wonder about it, 'cause I have yet to attempt the music stuff yet. If I do write another part, it'll be about surpassing difficulty, 'cause I wrote this on the night of the day I finally found a job.  -A grocery store thing; nothin' big... But it works for now... Also...., I have no plans to be like R. Kelly (sp?), and write a bunch of extra parts to this. That's annoying, in my opinion, and two would be the most for me... Later, everyone!!  |
