I’m needing your familiarity but right now it’s not yours to deliver
It’s been a long ways down and our hearts darken deeper down the river
Not like those past days we danced around mirages of growing older
But the lives we choose paved lonely roads while the old ones slowly crumbled
Now and then the phone transcends a conversation determined to relate
How are you fitting into a new life of fitting into socks to short for sandals?
Is your lip still red from the bleeding dead skoals we shared until last September?
I’ll let you go because what words can be said to revive or mend something that once was different
Circle around the characters in flaw revolving like a circus singing songs about the ocean
I’m at fault and I’m at flaw with every place I label as not worth going
Part of the curiosity has finally been opened but its more frightening because were closer to looking back
Scrapbooks of fading memories from the time we owned the land |
