In N.Z. broadband speed is around 2mbits/sec and some time in the future, telecom are being forced to increase it to 3.5 and drop the price a tad. Since there's only 2 providers here, price fixing seems to be happening with vodafone and telecom which is making a lot of people angry.

During a heated interview tonight with telecom's ceo, it came out that even 3.5 is still a totally draconian speed compared with other countries. Finland, which has similar pop. without the high cute blonde ratio, is getting 24m/sec.

What speed is everyone here getting ? And do you pay for hours or per Mb /
Just curious

If your actual download speeds are 2m/sec you're doing pretty good. In my experience that'sa decent download speed. I'm on Comcast cable in Nashville TN, USA. I'm lucky if servers can stream at that rate though. Most downloads are slower in practice.

Not sure what speed it is, but we recently just got DSL. Cool

Faster downloading of songs rocks.

Our unwired is 512kbps (around 64K/s), but it's unreliable half the time. (we're on the border of the coverage and in a slight valley from the tower...)
