Verse 1:
Lost it down at the crossroad
By now I can’t be turning back
The air comes dense once you’ve left
Twisted turning down a blinding pitchfork
Blistered, another splinter in my road
Evening sparked a fading, lonely yellow
A connoisseur matching riddles between rhymes
Contrasting ancient columns whom cast a luster
Into fragranted lies, makes it all the easier to repent
Another relapse, spun out on the wheel
This circle of self-deception is getting old
Consumed by guilt, my lasting alibi
Chorus:
Make sense, make sane, make certain, drained!
Slow down, get up, get down, spent!
Loose ground, sink in, drowned, flexed!
Verse 2:
I left her on Tuesday so I could have the week
But the weekend was a shipwreck and next month
I’ll still be stranded off the coast of deceit
Reoccurring situations hint the waste is building up
No room left for fluffy metaphors
When you’ve leased for life for rent
And all that’s left is a sea of time
One day it’ll be drained flexed spent
Chorus:
Make sense, make sane, make certain, drained
Slow down, get up, get down, spent
Loose ground, sink in, drowned, flexed |

Tis' very nice, Chris. I liked every line, and I really enjoyed the metaphors you used. Keep sharing what you write... I just love reading worded art, when it's done correctly... Later, !! |
