Alright, I know this is kinda clicheed, but whatever. I'm not sure how it will be instrumentalized (word?), but it probably won't be much, maybe just me and a guitar, or a small band.
I had a dream last night
and you were standing there
With a veil across your face
and black ribbons in your hair
Your eyes were red
as the tears fell down your cheek
Your heart felt like stone
your legs were growing weak
(Chorus)
In the end, when all is said and done
When that ship on the horizon sinks beneath the sea
When the last ray falls from the setting sun
When I'm gone, will you mourn for me?
I've been sitting, waiting,
thinking for some time
Staring out my window,
watching the world pass me by
The music never stops,
it just keeps flowing on
Singing the lyrics
to a neverending song
(Chorus)
(Instrument interlude?)
I had a dream last night,
you were standing there
With a veil across your face
and black ribbons in your hair
Don't shed a tear for me
After I'm gone
The world will keep on turning
The river will flow on
(Modified chorus)
In the end, when all is said and done
When that ship on the horizon sinks beneath the sea
When I've left this world, life will stil go on
When I'm gone, don't mourn for me
When I'm gone, don't mourn for me
The interlude will be either a guitar solo or a harmonica solo, depending on how I instrumentalize (It's a word now, goddamnit) it.
