Hey Folks, I just uploaded a song that was recorded live at Toads Place in New Haven Ct. it's a board recording and it lacks an overall balance, but it's a cool song that was written collectively with the last band me and bssgrl were in and I wanted to share it and get some feedback if that's cool.....I put it in Alternative genre
Anthem . . hifi . .click here
Anthem . . lofi . .click here
Peace,

the sweeping between speakers kindof freaks me out. not really my style of stuff, butI can see how someone into a band like Floyd would dig this. |

Hi Eric,
This live version of Anthem is a solid building block for what could be a very powerful and memorable track. Like you said the mix is rough but hey it's live so pretty good all things considered. At roughly 90 bpm it could do with being a little (95-98bpm) faster. Also although the guitar soloing is good it doesnt warrant being so long. One well crafted solo would make more impact than three good improv solos. You could easily shave off close to a minute of this song without losing any impact whatsoever. Also the vocalist could do with opening up his voice he sounds as though he is going for an unnatural tone and his voice is good to begin with. Also I felt that the song deserved just a bit more vocal passion all round and the chorus could have used more oooomph from the whole band. All that said you guys are off to a flying start with this one. Just fine tuning at this point. I hope this helps and I do like this tune I just wanted to lend a bit of final touch advice.
Nice one,
Martin |

Hey Martin, thanks for giving a listen and some feedback, I agree with you about everything, except . . the length of the lead was always extended when we played it live, it's definitely too long to do that way in the studio though. . . .thanks for checkin it out, I'm going to check out your tunes now and I'll comment in your post.
Peace,
Erick |
