Hello,

the song called "Mankind" is not in any way affiliated with any religion, nor does it speak of my beliefs...so no hate posts...lol

hey gunner,
listened to Mankind. It sounds okay but not really my thing at all so won't comment further.
Sliced is cool though. Eventually I'll try my hand at some slide. I like what you did with it. Really driving track. very solid. Not sure if it works as an instrumental. I could see it making fantastic song but not sure if there is enough variety/change to sustain it as an instrumental though.
Fantastic first attempt at slide though.
What tuning did you use on the guitar? |

Thanks,
yeah i know about the instrumental (Rules) i dont have a voice nor do i know anyone in the immediate area that can sing,,,,so i do what i can and when i can do it,,,,,lol
anyway as far as the tuning...it is standard 440 tuning
i only used the D and G string together for the slide and the root chord for the song is in A,
Mankind was my first attempt at that type of music also,,,,so i feel ya,,,its not really my kind of music either.....lol....figure that one out!!...lmaooo
But hey thanks for the comments!!

Mankind sounds a bit like Crytal Method (which is good!)
And i really dig the sound you got on sliced. Very cool! It feels like it ends too quickly though. It feels like it's about to move into something really big from the palm muting near the end and then kinda fades out...
Also, I wish i could play slide guitar. Whenever i do, it sounds too country!
These are going onto Alternative Nation fer sure!

hey Gunner, I freakin love "Mankind", it reminds me of Jeff Beck's "in the house" off of guitar workshop . . . it could use some more fill, but I love what you so far. . . "Sliced" was cool too, but it didn't seem balanced on the slide end, couldn't hear it to good. I'm gonna load up a song fom one of the shows from the last band we were in, it has a balance issue as well. BTW bssgrl liked "Mankind" a lot as well.
anyway . . . good stuff man!
Peace,
Ercik |

I can't play slide, but wouldn't have guessed this was your first try. Sounds good. I was waiting for something like a Free Bird slide sound, but the hard rock slide sounds good,., |

Unfortunately I'm on a slow internet connection and while listening to your song it kept stopping to rebuffer the stream. But from what I heard you are a pretty rippin' guitar player. I'm also trying to get better at slide guitar, one of my first tries was in my song 'It's Hard to Die'. Took me a few tries before I got something I was happy with. It's pretty tough so I can relate.
Make some lo-fi versions of your songs for all us little people!
