We're a pretty new band and we'd really appreciate some feedback. The production is pretty cheap (we recorded the songs on a minidisc while rehearsing), but it should give you a pretty good idea of what we sound like. It's kind of punkish, but not the fast and agressive type.

Thanks in advance... |

I'm listening to "Baby has a Way" I like the music, but not enough to hear it the over and over. I kept waiting for it to kick into something heavier. Like some distortion on the guitar or a snare in the drum mix. I couldn't really hear the vocals enough to comment on the singing and no lyrics posted to read em. I think the song just needs a little lift before it ends.
"Song two" more up beat and not as constant. I think you guys need some effects petals for that single guitar. And you need to work on some better recordings. Check out www.fasoft.com
"Whiskey, mystics & women" This is my favortie one and I would like to see some better recordings, so let me know when you get some and I'll be back.

I listened to your first 2 tracks and I hear a Tom petty and Matchbox 20 vibe going on, I agree with Michael Frazier on the song structures, they have a good flow and positive feel to them, the only thing though from what I heard is that to me the songs could use a little more tightening up as far as the drums go, but I did enjoy the listens, good job! . . . . keep on keepin on
Peace,
Erick . .

I think you have a great talent, keep up the good work.
I think you need some music that works with your flow and lyrics better. To give the vocals and the music some togetherness. I felt that some of the tracks the music and the vocals seem to out of place. They all sound great.

Hey odell7, if you feel like it you can check out our stuff at www.unsignedbandweb.com/seneki.
Te first 2 tracks were properly mixed and mastered, the bottom 3 were a bit of a rougher recording.
I'll head over to your page and chedk you out as well.

I definately head the Matchbox 30 influence Erick mentioned earlier.
You guys also remind me of an Aussie unsigned band called Six Pocket Theory, who rock. You guys seem to have established a really good sound and dynamic to your songs, and they flow really nicely! Good stuff.
And the tracks are also quite good quality for home recordings!

hey odel even though im in a punk rock band and i listen to alot of punk rock. i also think you guys rock whoever writes the lyrics is kick ass and the band is as well but the lyrics stand out for me .it reminds me of one of my favorite bands in the world. "LUCERO "self titled album . if u havent heard it. get it. i think you would like it alot as well. Also i think if u guys paid the money and went into a real studio and recorded and had it mastered it would do wonders for your sound. let me know if u do i want a copy. |

If you would like, review a few of our new material we just released. (This album was mixed by us, not a proffessional studio)
These are some of the songs I like the best on the album.
Prayed
Dreaming of Heaven
We All Swung The Hammer
Can You See The Cross
If you have time check em' out and let us know what you think.

I found an old version of "Whiskey, mystics & women" on my computer and replaced the other with it. This version is recorded in my room with Magix Music Maker, and it actually sounds a lot better. The bass is a guitar that I tuned down on the computer after it was recorded and the drums if from a synthesizer.
I had to skip a whole section of the song in the end because of the simple reason that I recorded the first half the first day, and on the other day I couldn't get the guitarr to sound right. This part wasn't on the other version aswell so you won't miss it thou...
