eveytime i try to write a song weather it's lyrics or arrangements, it never seems to pull through. I'll come up with good chord progressions or guitar licks or whatever but then i can't fit good lyrics into it! or, vice versa. I write good lyrics and can't fit the music in right.
i need some tips... |

I start with a good guitar rhym. Vers. and Chrs. Then I play the verse part over and over while writing the lyrics, Then move on to the chr. I put more time into it trying to make it mean something in whole to the song. Then if needed I'll add a bridge, parts for a lead or just some diffrent struming of the same chords.

Find your own formula and stick with it if it works!
good luck

Odell7's got the point here. Just progress through the music. But what I like to do is after I've written the first draft is pop the song on my MP3 player, burn it on CD, put it on my phone and basiclly make sure for the next day or two I can constantly hear it. Sing along to it, work out vocal melodies and try new ways of putting what you want in. You know what they say, practice makes perfect!
