Hi

I have noticed that Blue Tuesday and Home keep having plays taken off them, they was at 70+ the other day, and now have 26 on them, why is this...

I have alot of ppl emailing me about this, saying you site is fixed and you are taking them off so other people can get to the top, and this seems unfair why is this.

i think it has to do with a weekly plays rather than them trying to be unfair. if they wanted to be unfair they wouldn't have let you join in the first place, everyone i've had the pleasure of talking to on this site is really supportive of everyone elses music. this is a community, not just a website like soundclick.

Hubson.

The Unsigned Band Web is a community and we do everything fairly.

If you'll notice.....under Charts where your song's show up, this is just a weekly play for all artists under all genre's. Last week, your song's may have been played over 70 times (since you were newer and had promoted the songs in the forums), but this week they've only been played over 26 times.

If you look under Artists and look under your bands name 'Boomshanker', you will see that since you've joined the site, your songs have been played a total of 236 times and you are at #43 for total plays on your songs out of all the artists in every genre on this site.

If you want to see where you stand with other Indie bands instead of out of all the artists from every genre, click the Indie link on the left hand side of the home page under 'Popular Genres'. On the Indie page, you'll see that under 'Top plays - All time', "Home" is number one with 146 plays, and "Blue Tuesday" is number 3 with 87 plays. This shows you the total plays since you've joined, and where you are on the charts for only Indie bands.

I hope this explains alot and I'm sorry for the confusion. We do run a very fair site here and I'm sorry you thought differently. If there is anything else we can enlighten you about of help you with, please feel free to ask me (minusmetoo) or Ron (minusme).

Thank You.

Hubson,

It's great to see you have been tracking your plays at the site!! I can assure you everything we do is fair. The plays you are looking at are "weekly" plays. Just like any charting system based on a time frame, your plays will fluctuate. This week you may have 50 plays, next week you may have 35 plays. This is normal. You can ALWAYS find your TOTAL plays in the bottom portion of the "POPULAR GENRE'S" page. Look for the box that shows "All-Time" plays. You can also find them in your page manager under the "stats" column. These #'s will not fluctuate like the charts do. (THE ALL-TIME #'s do not update as quickly as the chart #'s)

Just FYI. The charts are based on "last 7 days" and they change every day. So the #'s will look different every day, based on the previous 7 days plays.

Have you REALLY been getting emails from people about this? I'll be honest, I thought it was self explanatory.

Has anyone else been getting emails from people confused about the charting system??!?!?

I think I'm gonna change the wording of the header tonight to make it more clear!!!

Sorry about the confusion, and keep me posted if you have any further questions!!!!!

(thanks too artimetik!!)

Take care,
Ron

just because you're paranoid, it does not mean that they're not after you

maybe we are a secret boomshanker enemy group, opened the whole ubw page for just stealing your plays, you never know.

peace.

Pete,

No problem. I changed the wording on the the "weekly song plays" so that hopefully it will be a little more clear.

Take care!
