Hey whats up guys, new to the forums, just wanted to say whats up first and foremost. Has anyone heard this guy, let alone remember him. Hes a couple generations older (60+70's) but wow, i was listening to his stuff the other day at a friends kickback and it was both the most relaxing and yet intense display of guitars and words id ever heard. I dont know if anyone got his new greatest hits cd "gold" but after listening to it, im getting a copy for myself. If theres any cat fans out there let me know your favorite track or if anyones heard of it. goto catstevens.com if anyones interested. Later

oh yeah, I used to listen to Cat years ago, I had 3 or 4 albums. When I was at this summer camp in my teen yrs our counselor used to play Cat Stevens and Neil Young all the time. My favorite is Father and Son on Tea for the Tillerman, also Moonshadow, there's many great songs he wrote, anyway welcome to the UBW and thanks for bringing up Cat and those lost memories of my youth.

Peace,
Erick . . . .

ps: check out Michael Frazier here on the UBW, he's a very gifted acoustic singer/songwriter.

Dude,

Cat Stevens f**king Owns Y'All!

Unfortunately, he is now a muslim, and due to his religion he cannot perform on stage (Not sure why, if anyone is a muslim/knows about this stuff I'd be interested why). He's amazing! My favorite song is "Where Will the Children Play?" on Tea for the Tillerman.

Cat Stevens was pretty prolific while he was about and was pretty huge at the time. He combined some pretty smart lyrics with some pretty sharp song writing. He was basically kind of pop/folk - kind of like a pre-Jack Johnsonesqe figure - by the way - for anyone reading this thread and wondering - put me straight if I'm mis representing him

I really dig Cat Stevens as well, I'd have to say my favorite song is "Oh Very Young" besides "Peacetrain"
I still play his albums to this day when I get a chance

I absolutely loved Jim Croce, and will now date myself by stating that I remember when he died. Very sad......
