I'm gonna' list my top five favorite musicians, from each spot in the (most common kind of) band. Do you have a Top 4 list, of your favorites? Please list em' here if ya' do...

1) Favorite lead-singer and lyricist- Brandon Boyd, Incubus
2) Favorite guitarist- Wes Borland, Limp Bizkit + soon to be revealed, Black Light Burns
3) Favorite Bassist- Jeordie White, A perfect Circle + Former M. Manson
4) Favorite Drummer- Danny Carey, TOOL

Keep in mind, this isn't necessarily about who you think is the best at each spot in a band. It's about who's talent you most enjoy, just out of musical taste. Later!

Ok, I'll play

1) Favorite lead-singer and lyricist-
Check out Rose Reiter's stuff on this site if you haven't. It's up there with the best imho

2) Favorite guitarist-
Gotta stay with Eddie Van Halen. Even though his time has passed he was a major influence in my teen years when I was learning to play.

3) Favorite Bassist-
This one's tough. Probably Flea

4) Favorite Drummer- While I'm not a huge Zep fan, John Bonham's grooves stand out to me when I hear their stuff on the radio.

I can't download anything, 'cause the process screws up everytime, so I can't check Rose Reiter's music out currently. Otherwise, I like your musical taste. Very Happy Later!

Guitar player - Jeff Beck or Mike Stern also Jimi of course
Bass Player - Chris Squire or Chris Wood also Flea (I agree smili)

My 'signed' artist favorites are:

Best Songwriter: I agee that Dylan is one of the most prolific ever and is my choice, although I must give props to McCartney/Lennon & Paul Simon.

Best Guitar Player: Tough call, but for his time, I always thought that Eddie Van Halen was very innovative. Honorable mention goes to Les Paul.

Best Bass Player: Probably Les Claypool, but I don't follow him that much.

Best Drummer: Neil Pert - This guy really is on an entirely different level than everyone else technically. I was never a big Rush fan, but in listening to their old tunes and hearing his tempo changes, he deserves the prize in my book.

Best Vocalist: Stevie Nicks, and a hell of a songwriter too!

Dylan was a human paintbrush... I'm not too familiar with his lyrics, just yet, but what I have heard on tv, or seen online, etc., quite obviously confirms why many see him as a legend. -'cause he is one.

Nice choices, Ron! Very Happy -Hope lief's treatin' you well. Wink Later!

1) Favorite lead-singer and lyricist - Maynard James Keenan - TOOL
2) Favorite guitarist - David Gilmour/Joe Satriani/Adam Jones/Jeff Beck/John Petrucci
(don't ask me to narrow it down further!)
3) Favorite Bassist - Flea, LesClaypool or my friend Johnny from Griever
4) Favorite Drummer - Danny Carey - TOOL

Singer and drummer were easy, the other two had to think about.

Gonna get in on this. Felt inspired.

Favourite Songwriter: Devin Townsend. Genius. Pure...Genius. There is nothing this man cannot do, but what he -does- do blows me away everytime.

Favourite Guitarist: Dimebag Darrel. R.I.P brother.Pure magic and the sole reason I picked up a guitar in the first place.

Favourite Bassist: Flea. Amazing sound, innovative predominance that bassists rarely achieve in a band.

Favourite Drummer: Neil Pert - Nick Barker (Dimmu Borgir/Cradle of Filth) A tough one to call, there were four I picked out for this and kept changing my mind. They were; Chris Kontos, Thomas Haake & Vinnie Paul. Ended up with Nick Barker, over pure mechanical precision and creative flair.

Favourite Vocalist: David Bowie. Cant actually sing that great, but his voice just captivates me whenever I hear it. ESPECIALLY on Under Pressure with Queen.

And thats mine.

Dude, Dimebag (R.I.P.) died about three to four hours away from where I live. I've never really been that into Pantera, but I've heard his guitaring, and that was a big loss for music that night. Later!
