If only you knew what worth was obtained
in your awkward presence and timid stare.
If only i could say what my emptiness wouldn't allow contained:
That you mean a lot more to me than i can bare.
I beg god a somber hope to be far away
from this restrained feeling of being close.
Our paths are unavoidable to my dismay,
A regret that will never rest but expose.
How useless am i in this lonely shell
to someone who deserves much more?
Disobedience makes this flattened heart swell;
My aura fades to leave my willingness sore.
I cry this helpless lament
For i serve no purpose to another soul
who's equal interest would just as well have cement
what feelings they had but are now so dull. |

Again, great job! You write very nicely, and with this one, I have to tell you that my favorite stanza is the last one. I too write poetry sometimes, although not even slightly as much as lyrics. Take care. Later! |

Welcome.
I usually just write whatever comes to mind. If I feel like writing poetry, I do that, but just to give an example, I've posted 67 lyric threads in this forum, since June, and only 6 or 7 poems. Later, man! |
