This was written on 5/22/05. It's about something being very messed up with the Earth right now, geologically. It's called "Sign of the Times", and with no further description, it's pretty straight-forward. There's a little more to it, but you may get the drift while reading. (Hint- The Media.)
"Sign of the Times"
Look around...
Look around,
at killer waves, earthquakes, and hurricanes.
Is there more of this, to come?
Only time can tell.
-Chaos, and burning flames, world war, pain, and living shame?
Will we need a drug to numb, so the trauma, won't be, felt as strong?
(Chorus):
Well, hey man,
I'm not, so sure, that the present human status is fine,
today. -Just read the main headlines.
In the clearest, plain view,
you'll find,
tragedies, set in bold to attract the eye,
with stories of nonsense, following close behind.

Not too long ago,
watching the news,
it was my right to choose, if I wanted to
watch the tale
of a late-breaking story.
So, I chose to view
what could be similar to
any of the sick, sad stories
we've all grown used to,
and saw new hurt again...
a mother murdered in front of her innocent
children, naturally by some guy they were living with,
and suddenly I'm lost in a moment, of wondering what it
would be like to witness such an evil crime...
I'd likely lose my mind.

While I was typing that, I realized both of the issues that inspired me to write this: 1) As I mentioned before, the previous hurricane season, in 2004, and similar events, and 2) The story on the news, written about in these lyrics. Some heartless asshole in Cleveland, OH., USA (near me), killed that woman in front of her 3 yr. old son, a 7yr. old daughter, and a 13 yr. old daughter, as well as hurting or killing one of the children. Yes, those details are very sketchy (the ages, and genders of the kids), but the general situation is factual, and I remembered as best as I could. Those kids had to watch that happen, and it just really got me angry. I hate seeing people hurt, or anything similar, so it pissed me off quite a bit.

Very strong! I don't pay much attention to the news (not lately, it's feeling kind of hopeless) but i've been realizing how much more severe things have gotten. Parents killing their children...I remember reading a while ago about a homeless woman who amputated her child's arm...and well, it feels sick just mentioning it, but aside from human cruelty, the weater has been amazing.

There are no late replies, my friend.  I myself have been wanting to go back over the past pages of posts, to look for threads that have gotten no replies, because I know I have some like that, due to many posts in previous short periods of time. Sometimes those were the ones I felt were most important to me, and therefore was hoping to get some feedback for. The way I see it, I'd like to reply with honest feedback to as much as I can, and try to leave nothing unnoticed. Thanks for this, and all your feedback. It's quite generous. Later! |
