it would be a good idea if more people posted here... but there are only about 20 people who post lyrics, and I can't realy see there being that many votes.

I also doubt anybody's going to waste their time looking through all of the old lyrics that have been posted.

Perhaps people could post 3 songs each or whatever which they wish to be considered to be put forwards and then have people vote.

The lack of people will be the biggest problem though... and I can't see any way around it.

yea I think that would be a better way of going about it, if people just enter their own songs that they wish to be entered. because this place is slowly dying and people wont be bothered with going threw everything to find stuff to nominate.

I have some thoughts on this idea...

What if it were a monthly contest? People in this forum could nominate their favorite lyricist from the current month (only once), and whoever gets the most nominations would earn the "best lyricist" title. Furthermore, why divide it into genres? I feel that music is a universal artform, and whether it's rap, rock, pop, etc., etc., one should read another's lyrics without judging based on the genre, but instead, on how artistic it is. Not to try to "take this idea over," or anything, but there could be an additional contest, where people could nominate lyricists who are newer members of the UBW. Of course', it might be better, in that case, to make that a three month contest.

This type of "contest idea," of which Bullet's thread was posted around, would likely have a lot of kinks to be worked out, before-hand, but I think it would be a cool update to the site. I know if I were to become a moderator, and this idea became an eventual reality, I'd try to help with running the whole contest.

One last point I've got... Out of 20 people (on average), one person a month would, at least, work out for twenty months, and then more people join everyday. Laughing

Hmm... That's about it. Anyone who has any thoughts on my opinions, feel free to share. -Agreements; disagreements...; whatever you've got to say. I'll be checking back here. Later!
