Not going to say anything anyone else here hasn't already said... Not really my style of rock... But here's my .02.

- Talented dudes... you can play.
- Recording is as you say, is in need of some polishing

Now for the real bit... Songs are real "safe" for lack of a better phrase... they're "good" but by that I mean they're in tune, the chords make sense and the changes fit... But there's no edge.

If you look around at how many bands are on this site, or how many bands are on myspace these days, you really need to set yourself apart... you have the talent to do it... but your writing needs to develop some more originality and style.

daz all. Let us all know when you post some more stuff. always up for a new listen.

Would love your .02 on my stuff as well.

I like the rhythm guitar work on this piece, reminds me of a Mark Knopfler picking style. Nice counterpoint between the chunk and the picking, gives the tune more "motion" than the drum beat would suggest. The chorus section (about 00:57) gives off a Neil Young vibe IMO. Overall very listenable, I won't go into the production bit....sometimes (I know for me at least) it's more important to get the idea down, then later go in and refine it. I'll be checking out your other tunes.

Thanks for listening Rezonate and suburban31, I appreciate it!

To suburban31, I hear what you're saying about having an edge to ones music to try and stand out and make it, BUT I only make music that comes from my heart and soul, my songs usually write themselves, I don't set out to try and write a hit song . . . i'm an 47 yr old fart, making it is not even a thought anymore with me, I just play and write and record what's in my heart and soul and this site is a GREAT place to share it with anyone who is interested in hearing it . . . tha tha tha that's all folks . . Wink

Peace,
Erick

Amen. I'm a 33 year old fart myself, couple o' kids, whatever, not trying to "make it" either... just love playing, and love getting together with the boys and rocking out.

But here's the thing... Asking to have your song "Reviewed" vs. "Here, let me share my heart and soul with you" are not really the same thing. Asking for a review means asking for someone elses opinion, a subjective opinion of your music, right?

I don't mind getting slammed when I ask for a review... if it's a thoughtful review, with points relevant to what I'm trying to do... AWESOME, thanks for taking the time to listen and comment... I play for myself as well, but feedback makes me better, I learn from others ears and experiences...

If I ask for a review... I expect a 3rd person subjective review. If you don't want that, then say so.. "Please listen to my songs, and enjoy them". Don't say "Let me know what _you_ think" and then get tweaked cuz you don't really care what _I_ think. (which I respect by the way).

Fair enough?

BTW: I like all yer tunes they're cool and very listenable...

Smile take it easy.

fair enough bro . . . . keep on playing man !!!

maybe Ron should have a forum called "give me some praise if I'm worthy" . . . lol Laughing

I like your tunes as well and the first tune I listened to definitely has an edge to it with what the one guitar is doing cranking on those higher notes with angst . . . nice touch.....

Peace

Extremely cool man, I really like this type of music. Your voice really works with the genre, I'm excited to hear anything else you put out. The only quirk I can come up with is the vocals are just a little bit quiet compared to the instrumentals. Even without messing with that though, excellent song.
