Okaaay erick here I go:
1)Early morning:
The feeling is very deep in this tune.It reminds me of the summer times.I play the guitar since I'm 13 but I have to say that you're way much better than me.You can put some vocals on it,it could be nice but you know its just me.Just an idea.I dont know how you record your stuff but a condenser mic would work well with the acustic guitar.Rythm section needs compression I think and panning the drums will sound more realistic.
2)Time to go:
Yeaah I liked the screaming guitars.Altough I liked the early morning better "time to go" is a great work too.Again drums need compression and panning in my opinion.Maybe you could try recording the guitars multiple. What I mean is that you record them twice or triple times so that you can get more powerfull guitar sounds without having peaks(in case they're panned right). If you could tell me how you record your stuff I can comment more on your songs. If you're interested I can send you my rock style records so we can have a little chat about recording style and stuff like that.
All in all I liked your style a lot.Maybe sometime we can do some stuff together.Who knows.
Take care.
Love and cheers.
Kerem. |

Totaly kick arse! Solid track dude. It's strange though, in a way.. there really isnt a "chorus" per say in the song.. i know that the "slow down" part would be the chorus but to me its more of counter part to the versing rather than a "traditional" chorus. And that's probably what I like most about this song. It's not typical formula writing.
Real important.. Don't take my comment about the chorus negetively ..it's actually intended as a compliment.
the songs moves.. it's energized!

thank you for the listens guys!
Thank you very much Kerem for your detailed feedback I really appreciate it, I would like to learn and understand more about compression, I hear where your coming from as far as multi layering the guitar, but I record on an old 4 track and the most I can get is 6 tracks with some ping ponging after that the degradation is too much. Please do send me some of your rock tracks, I would love to hear it.
Thank you Eric for your comments as well, . . yeah, I don't like to follow formulas too often. I'm glad you like the tune!
Peace,
Erick |

Hey Erick, love the tune 'Early Morning', not much to even comment on about it, it's a fantastic mellow song. Now all I need is a bag of ganja, close my eyes drift away. Perfect song to put you right to sleep, but I definately mean that in a good way Awesome work, very talented. |

gotta agree with dirtbox ..only reason i listed was because u had 20 replies or something.but i havent heard anything that un original in a really long time .sounds like something from the 80's like sammy hagars lost unsigned brother.tell that singer to stay away from all microphones in the future.but hey the drummer is pretty rockin and the guitar is nice and polished u obviously know ur instrument.i can respect that.just not m style .but what the f**k do i know ?check me outwww.unsignedbandweb.com/music/bands/4734/ |

I agree about the 70's rock vibe - I'm going to invent you a new Genre - I'm callin it "Cold War Rock" Seriously though -
Tightly played - you have GOT to up the guitar solo - I don't know if it's just the compression on MP3 but the solo guitar is way below the rhythm and you could probably do with trackin it up or tweaking it a little as it sounds a bit thin (again could be the compression).
Tune has a good structure, couldn't hear too much of the words but overall I liked it - It's not my normal vibe I admit but I think DirtBox is being a Twat being so harsh on you - Keep on keepin on..

hey splattter . . . lol . .Sammy Hagar eh? that's a new one . . . . . .that's a good one about the singer to stay away from all microphones in the future . . .
Thanks for listening Soulfish, yeah we got screwed at the studio we recorded this at, you're right about the lead and comp as well as the 1st rhythm guitar for the 2nd verse. the levels are all messed up, the band broke up and the recordings never got mastered. .Thanks for the listen and Ghotti is an awsome band, stay together man! "Control" is my favorite tune of yours, excellent guit solo

Alright mate,
I'm new to this forum, and i went to your website and ended up listening to " A Time To Go". Sorry.
But I liked that one. I'm not really into rock, but I can appreciate a good guitarist when i hear one. Start of the tune is a bit Chris Rea, but then in the middle you did the freestyle which was awsome. |
