Hey Everyone,
This song is very strong, as far as how emotional I got writing it, when singing it (so far), and each time I've read the words back. It was inspired by a nightmare I had overnight, about one of my sisters. If you wanna know more, see the last thread I started in the "General Music Discussion" forum. I'm not sure what the title for the thread was, but it explains this more, and it's the last one that I posted there. The title for this is, "Under Eyelids", and I'm gonna' post it now, and then, either look for posts to reply to, or just get off of here and go to sleep (try). I woke up from that nightmare this morning at 4:19am, and I haven't gotten any good sleep since then (It's 12:15am). That's all about that stuff...
"Under Eyelids"
Look at what you've driven me to.
-Dreams of things that I would never do.
In proportion to how I am away from the mattress,
it's immensly disturbing.
I woke today,
interrupted by the reels
of inner aggression
forcing me to witness-
(Chorus):
Heads smack;
Your eyes bleed(!)
This isn't happening(!)...
(But it feels so cold.)
I'm under eyelids;
My body in a frenzy, as I lay.
You scream(!)
I grow weak(!)
This isn't happening(!)...
(-The truth not shown.)
Then from under eyelids, suddenly I wake.
You persist. -Feed strengthening fueds.
Grief in me, for all that is untrue.
Rapid movement turned into the view of a great mess
that intensely unnerves me.
I woke to flames.
They erupted inside me
with emotional tension,
evoking what I witnessed:
(Chorus revised):
Heads smack;
Your eyes bleed(!)
This isn't happening(!)...
(But it feels so cold.)
I'm under eyelids;
My body in a frenzy, as I lay.
You scream.
I grow weak.
This isn't happening(!)...
(-The truth not shown.)
-Under Eyelids.
(Chorus, no revisions)
(Short Interlude)
(Outro):
It wasn't factual.
I'm glad, but you don't know-
Heads smack; your eyes bleed(!)
You evoked these scenes.
It wasn't factual.
I'm glad, but you don't know, what it's like.
Try to imagine(!)
Try to imagine, those images that you evoked.
You'll never try...
It doesn't matter...
Neither do I(!); you'll never(!)-
(sing 3x):
Try...(!)

To quickly lessen any possible confusion here, when I post my lyrics, I use three periods for a shorter vocal extension of a word (but still longer than usu.), and five for a longer, vocal extension. Also, within the lyrics, most of the time you see something in parenthesis around actual words, that's supposed to mean that I'd need a backup vocal for those words, due to holding out the last note. Lastly, an exclamation point inside parenthesis means there's much greater emotion in my voice. That last one is very evident when I practice this one.
I'm gonna' try to fall asleep soon, cause' I need that, and it sucks, cause' I'm not feeling too good about sleeping, since this morning. I do need it though. If anyone is at all concerned, don't worry, I'll be fine. I know that it is up to me to deal with the "inner aggression" that I mentioned lyrically, and not let this become some kind of strong fear in me. -And If you are concerned, I appreciate that, but at the same time, I'd rather it not be stated in any replies, because I'm not what some would call, a "sympathy seeker," and I'd really prefer not to be seen as one. -Hope you enjoyed this. Take care, and goodnight. |

I think that even if you had not set it up, I'd still have felt a great emotional power in these lyrics. Nice Job Man. I'll definately read more of your stuff. I have a bit of a troubled spirit myself and I have learned to view it as a blessing???????? Yeah, I've seen alot of writers, after a few good trys, run out of things to write about, while others destroy their lives for a taste of the emotions that I experience daily. Anyway, love the lyrics. Do you have a band? If so are you on UBW? |

I'm glad you enjoyed this. It's straight from the heart, as are always all my lyrics. If I see anything by you on here, I'll check it out. I tend to reply to everything that I can on here. Later! |
