i dunno....

I thought that the weekend meant your mind had been changed
And you’d given up on what had been making you weak
Traded it all in for what was renewed while you were with me
But maybe it was all just wishful thinking
And I can’t blame anyone but myself
For letting you get away when you tried so hard not to
I hate the person that I used to be

Well its me who’s trying now, I hate the turning of tables
I’m losing grip somehow, its so hard living out these fables
I’ve learned my lessons, please tell me its not too late
To make it all up to you, to overcompensate for the past
To do everything in my power to make this last

I wish that I could be the one to take your pain away
I want to be the drug that’s running through your veins
The girl, she’s so oblivious, and she isn’t helping my case
I see in her so much of my past
Why do you follow the ones that are lost?
And why cant that part of me just be erased?

Maybe I’m not worth it
But I think with your help I could be
And maybe I don’t deserve it
But I’d do anything to make you happy
Cuz your laugh is what aligns me
Your laugh is what reminds me
Of what I never gave the chance to start
Of what’s been missing in my heart

That was AWESOME!
The only advice I could give is to cut out some of the
extra wordage, but, overall, that's good writing.

Kind of Oberst-y, but that's cool.

It does seem to have some unneeded words in there, but I enjoyed most all of the song. I especially enjoyed the last three lines of the song. It just sounds, I dunno'... -set to a nice flow with the sound, maybe? It's definitely very artistic. I commend that. Cheers!
