Hey All,

This is an interesting poem I wrote that I found to be quite interesting. I wrote it way back in freshman year of high school, around the time that we studied shakespearian poetry, because I really liked the challenge that I saw, in trying to write a shakespearian sonnet. I don't remember the exacts on this, but I know it took me somewhere between two to three and a half hours to write this, because of the syllable formatting it involved. Check it out.

"Eternal Rest Sonnet"

Many long hours pass me by slowly;
hours of pain, regret, and depression.
Sitting there wishing someone would hold me,
thoughts of life fill with rage and aggression.
Things happen for reasons which are unknown;
Things happen for reasons I wish to find.
My true emotions are not ever shown.
I keep them inside my heart and my mind.
But later in time I know I'll decease.
Then all of the sadness will finally end.
My heart and my mind will finally find peace,
deep in the sleep of my eternal rest.

Though sadness may stay until your last breath,
Eternal rest ends it- That rest is your death.

EnD

Alright... Real quick, the reason that sounds so morbid is, because that was the exact time when everything started going downhill, very rapidly, with my emotions. Somehow after six years, It ended with no explanation at all. That's why I said this poem is interesting to me. I wrote it at the beginning of horrible times, when it was far from the worst feelings that I would feel, and now those times are only past memories. Just to let you all know, The end of my "spiral", if you will, was about two and a half months ago. Just before the end of all of that, I went through five days, where I thought I wouldn't make it through, and one night I feel asleep, despite being in the middle of troubles with my sleep schedule, and since I woke up the morning after, I haven't felt anything more than minor sadness. I hope you guys enjoyed the poem.

Cheers, and a smile, to All!

This sonnet/poem is good, I loved studying sonnets in school last year.

The best line is:

"Though sadness may stay until your last breath,
Eternal rest ends it- That rest is your death. "

This stood out the most to me, i dont no why it just jumped right out

Thank you much. When I was studying sonnets, and wrote this, I learned that the last two lines are supposed to show the whole point of the poem, so I just tried to strongly state it. Cheers!
