Just another song I wrote a few minutes ago, hope you like it. It's gonna be a folk song, just me and my guitar (and Harmonica).
"Is This Progress?"
(Verse 1)
A man sits down at his workdesk
And looks up at the screen
His data report is one hundred pages long
He's got eight hours of work to do
before he can go home
So he starts typing with the radio playing on
(Pre Chorus)
But at night when he comes home to his wife and family
Eating frozen dinners by the light of a cable TV
They just don't seem to talk to each other or discuss their day
They'd rather watch a show about famous people in LA
(Chorus)
Are we too blinded by the light
To see what we've become?
What's the point of progress
If you don't know what you've done?
(Verse 2)
And there's a young man working ten long hours
at a steel factory
He's making minimum wage and nothing more
He's got three kids and a wife to feed
and rent bills to pay
On a one story house with highway outside the front door
(Pre Chorus)
And at night he comes home drunk with a belt in his right hand
His wife screams at him to stop, but he shows her that he's a man
She's got bruises from the day before and a black eye on her right
She's almost gotten used to the pain she endures every night
(2nd run of chorus)
(Bridge)
We've got jumbo jets and autocars
Flying ships into space and robots to Mars
Gasoline and styrofoam
Appliances to fill the home
But we never stop to think about
The lives we live and the things we tout
Or why kids are dying in a war that won't cease
Or why we're killing each other in the name of peace
(Chorus)
(Harmonica Outro)
Comments would be greatly appreciated.

The whole song is cool. However, I enjoyed the bridge the most. It's just great how you wrote that, and I love the substance within those lines. Also, the second pre-chorus is just intense, man.
I don't know if you read the song I posted, titled, "The Rescue", but it's all about domestic violence towards women. In any case, domestic violence sucks, but a man beating a woman really gets to me. Those so-called "men" probably wouldn't last thirty seconds in a fight against a man, and yet they think that they are men. In my opinion, they aren't men; they're the biggest cowards that live on the Earth.
But yeah... You did a very good job making this song a good read. I enjoyed it a lot, and I think you should post more song lyrics, if you have more written. Cheers, Tyler!
