You play me like an instrument,
But you don't play me so well anymore,
It's like you've forgotten the chordes,
And every note sounds flat,
Those sharp notes that you used to play,
Cut me open every day,
And then your voice would sew me back up,
As though it had never happened,
You play me like a game,
A game I could never win,
A handicap that's far to big,
For anyone to possibly deal with,
And everytime I start to catch up,
You shake the rules up,
And cancel out my wasted time,
If this was fair you'd have been disqualified,
From the word go,
You play me like a computer,
But you never save,
The progress that we made,
And everytime you get depressed,
All you do is hit 'reset',
But it only works for you,
And your eyes reminding me,
Of everything that's happening,
You play me like a game,
A game I could never win,
A handicap that's far to big,
For anyone to possibly deal with,
And everytime I start to catch up,
You shake the rules up,
And cancel out my wasted time,
If this was fair you'd have been disqualified,
Sooner than we know,
Handicap for me,
Handicap for me,
Handicap for me,
Handicap for me,
You play me like a game,
A game I could never win,
A handicap that's far to big,
For anyone to possibly deal with,
And everytime I start to catch up,
You shake the rules up,
And cancel out my wasted time,
If this was fair you'd have been disqualified,
A long long time ago, |

I dont really no why im replying to this, you obviously know what Im going to say. another awesome song. reading the first verse got me hooked, but by the third verse when you say "You play me like a computer," I thought, ok this is getting old, but it was actually very clever.
my favourite part is:
"You play me like an instrument,
But you don't play me so well anymore,
It's like you've forgotten the chordes,
And every note sounds flat,"
The line "And every note sounds flat," is so weird because I actually wrote somethign similar to that awhile ago, so if I post that song Im not copying you. |

Tom,
Those words are honestly, some of the coolest that I've seen pieced together by a writer. Reading them, I just thought, "How did he come up with these incredible 'paint brushes'?" Now, I know I just used a medaphor, so not everyone may know what I mean by "paint brushes." I'm saying that these words, seemed to paint pictures in my mind through-out the song. Tom, I think this song is the one that stands out to me the most, out of all that I've read by you, so far. Good job. Cheers, Tom!
