Hey All,

I just realized this song title signals that the song has a negative message behind it, but it's the exact opposite. Something happened last night, and it could make some, less driven, singers think, "This dream of music that I have, is really a stupid one." I basically shrugged it off, and instead thought about what happened, in a positive manner. This song is kind of a proclamation by me, that states how I could care less what others think about the determination I have, to be successful in music. If you want, read my next post, in the off-topic forum. It'll be titled, "On the Stage", and basically, it'll tell you guys about the experience I had last night, but won't be centered around what inspired me to write this song (a minor incident). Also, the title makes it look like I'm saying that I have a karaoke dream, but it's a shortened version of, "The Karaoke night dream crusher who failed." I don't like my song titles to be too long, so I just decided not to care, and called it what it is. I have no dream to be a "king of karaoke," because that would be a big joke. And now..., the song.

"Karaoke Dream Crusher"

You didn't offend me, in the least.
I know that wasn't the goal.
I know you didn't see me
observe your mockery.
Enthusiastic minds can travel far...
If they are driven inside.
I don't know you,
but at a glimpse it seems
that your car...

(Pre-Chor.):
won't go as far as mine may go.
So Kudos to you, for having fun;
it's just so...
interesting to me. (to me)

(Chorus):
You find humor, in my dream.
The goal in mind
is hard to achieve, but I'll try.
My passion cannot be supressed.
Karaoke was the chance,
for me...
to feel the fun of testing ability,

That's right.

It fine with me, if you don't see.
Only those who sing can know.
I know you probably don't sing,
and I work towards the possibilty,
that with a shiny ride I could travel far...
I don't know you,
but I know, with less gasoline, your
shinier car...

(altered Pre-Chor.):
may not go as far as mine may go.
But cheers to you; you're having fun.
You failed to know
you can't supress a visionary. (-Like me)

(2nd run Chorus)

(Bridge):
I'm alright...
You didn't even scrape my skin.
The truth is I tried to give
an honest performance.

I'm not tone deaf...
Do I have to be?
It may have seemed too serious
for karaoke. I know.
I enjoyed it, anyway.

(3rd run Chorus, followed by a repeat run, immediately after)

(Outro):
On a stage,
with a mic',
that's when I'm serious.
It's still fun to me.
I choose to think
that karaoke, is supposed to be.
This was a one time thing
to see how it would be.

Yes, I was serious. I did it for me.
Your thoughts, can't crush my car...,
seriously.-

Ya know(?), I almost wanted to title this song, "Drive", but I have this problem with doing that kind of thing, because I don't want what I write to be considered cliche. So, just as I was about to call my friend- who is the lead singer of the band, Incubus- to ask him if he'd care about me using "Drive" as the title, I decided that I'd say screw it, and tell you all (in the middle of this sentence) that I'm not, at all, personally friends with Mr. Boyd. In all actuality, I just didn't call the song "Drive", because I enjoy the challenge of being original. If you care to know about how my first performance in public went, read the thread I told you about before ("On the Stage"). That concludes the three song "spree," and if you've read every one of them, I hope you enjoyed them a little.

Cheers, and a Smile, All!

I'm posting this reply in all three of the songs I posted this morning, so everyone knows what I'm about to say. I realized that the post about my first performance last night will fit better in the General Music Discussion forum. So, that's where I'll post it. Once again, it's title will be "On the Stage". Cheers!
