since Im new here I have to ask, do you get these kind of people in here regularly or are there some genuine people? It does seem a bit suspect that he has a yahoo address as all companies provide their staff with work addresses. Might be best to copyright anything that is sent over before...
But anyway, hello all And how are you today?

Yes, as the origional post did say to email him. But as eka pointed out; a scout with a yahoo address ? Surely a scout would do their own research, then notify the artists they like. There are quite a few links to music here |

Sorry guys, here's how it needs to work.
Okay, I intern at Columbia Records in the A&R War Room and I'm looking for great artist that compose great music. If you have what it takes and I mean EVERYTHING IT TAKES, SHOOT ME AN EMAIL AT NPARKWR@COLUMBIAWARROOM.COM with a link to your web site NOT YOUR MYSPACE PAGE). Your site MUST include your music, bio, photo, and any other necessary elements. EMAILING ME AT THE ABOVE ADDRESS IS THE ONLY WAY I WILL BE ABLE TO LISTEN TO YOUR MATERIAL.

I am a female. I intern in the Columbia A&R War Room. When I first posted this thread I was trying to start the process before I was given my official email address. What I do is search the Internet and go to showcases for unsigned artist. If I think the act is great I play their music in one of our weekly meetings for the A&R's at Columbia Records. If they like it then the process continues.

Perhaps they are out there listening to music but they aren't going to ask everyone to send them music surely. |
I didn't ask anyone to send me music. In that case I would have posted the mailing address. |

I don't deal with signed artist. |

I've been really busy this summer. If you email your website to the email address and I like your music I will get back to you about sending in your music.
Sorry about the confusion. |

the major music companys cannont accept solicited material unless there is verbal or written consent to do so in person..a "talent scout" for a major does not have the time to be going through a bunch of indi music..most of there time is acually spent catering and looking after the artists that are signed to the label already..the more you can do for yourself independently the better.most groups/solo acts are better off persuing a distobution contract instead of some complex big exclusive contract.but the lure of big bucks and "cheesy comercialisim"is sometimes too big for most.the bottom line is this.:if your into the music thing do it for the love of it.dont do it cause you want to become a millionare or celeberty..get into another profession that caters to that.cheers! |
