$talker records is a small independent record label in London. The bands and solo artists working with this label and that are on the compilation CD's are talented singer songwriters. Have a look on www.stalkerrecords.co.uk when you think your music would be right for Volume3.
BUT........they are looking for the next generation (younger then 20) that is influenced by the Lemonheads, Weezer, Mudhoney, Ben Kweller, Evan Dando, Dinosaur Jr. etc to be on the YOUNG, LOUD AND SNOTTY CD.
The projects on this site/label are all done out of love for the music. They're not in it for the money, check the forum to see what this amazing girl Lizzie London has achived in a small period of time. Bands and solo artists from all over the world are welcome.
On the first two At The Forum Volumes there are artists from the UK, Sweden, Australia, USA and the Netherlands. Listen to samples on www.stalkerrecords.co.uk |

If you're looking for a big record deal do NOT visit www.stalkerrecords.co.uk !
When you would like to share your music with other musicians, home recorders and listeners and you like the idea behind the projects on the site, have a look on the forum first. Do not get in contact if your goal is to be a great rock star, it's all for the fun of making music. |

Are they a label as such, or do they just make comps? |

They do the whole shebang - production of CDs, CD artwork, promotion, retail, management and bookings for some bands now, but are too busy to take any more for the next few months.
The Young, Loud and Snotty CD will be just a compilation CD.
All they do is to help new and established artists by :
1. Acting as a UK-based online retail outlet;
2. Inclusion on $talker Records 'At The Forum' CDs - a series of compilation CDs with an international circulation - great for putting artists in touch with each other, getting your music heard all over the world, and invaluable for establishing much-needed contacts. Volumes I and II are done and dusted (Volume II is now on sale in the online store). Submission details for Volume III are now online.
(If you are under the age of 20, please also check out details of our Young, Loud & Snotty project).
3. Hosting tracks of featured artists on the very active Forum;
4. Hosting free album downloads to promote artists' later material;
Just visit the website and see if $talker records is right for you.
YOUNG, LOUD & SNOTTY
"Young, Loud & Snotty" - this is a compilation CD, aimed at encouraging the next generation of musicians, comprising tracks from young musicians the world over. The only stipulation is that the average age of the band/artist must be under 20 years and the material must be original (no covers please).
Depending on the number of tracks received, this may be offered as an internet-only download, or if we get enough interest, we'll release it either as an EP or a full-length CD.
$talker Records operates on a non-profit basis, selling its own releases at a price solely to cover production costs, post and packing, and the omnipresent Paypal fees. Our aim is not to make money out of the talent of others, but to get good music out there where it belongs. For this reason, we don't pay artists for their tracks, but what we can do is get you on a CD with an international circulation and in so doing, increase your exposure. Plus, of course, you get to say that you're on a CD released by a London-based independent record label. All rights remain with the artists themselves. There's no catch - check out what people say about $talker Records on the Forum for an idea of the ethos behind the label.
As usual with $talker Records releases, contributors will receive a free copy of the CD.
