While I'm currently attemptin to get a band together, me and my lovely wife have sat around thinkin' about band names.....We finally came up with Victims Of The Game, as I'm looking for people who have not succeeded elsewhere in other bands...
What you guys think...good...bad....give up.....
I'm not stratin' a poll for this, just a little general slagging off in my general direction |

Today, while cleaning up rust and battery acid in a toy box we thought of...
RUSTED WING
or perhaps some variation of it. Keeping in mind your original nameof "Victims of the Game" it seemed to have a similar feel, yet, less (as I mentioned before) melodramatic.
Cheers,

Band names can be hard. I recon u can subconsciously copy stuff too. I wanted number in the name so i thought of 'B Joe 90' but then u get ppl sayin....ooo sounds like UB40 or whatever. a really fun method is gettin a friend or other band member and writing lists of words and fittin thm together. my results were: monkey-hotline, lifesaver-tortoise, distant-chimney, soot-fish, flowing-mmmmm....etc none are terribly good but it can be fun. very fun. i am sad tho. or just come up with somethin and make up some kind of story to giv it meanin. (my band still has no name) like the horse |

I kind of like it, although it does sound a bit.... emo. Could be more fitting as a song title. Iono.
I've always wanted to use "Jackrabbit Slim's" as a band name... y'know, the restaurant in Pulp Fiction where they do the twist. |

Band names can be tough, indeed. I have some friends who are still looking for theirs. So far, none of my ideas have been a hit with them. My latest rejected submission was "Defeat the Purpose." Earlier suggestions included "Assisted Living" and "Grown Men." The latter of which wouldn't have worked anyway-- a Google-search indicated that it's the name of Miscosoft co-founder Paul Allen's band.
My friends' bass player did release a solo album titled Assisted Living. Fair enough; he lets me steal images from his photo site to illustrate my band pages. |

The name of my band, "Severance" came from, strangely enough, the title of a computer game for the PC, turns out it also means something along the lines of "The act of being severed" (i did look it up on dictionary.com, but can't be bothered right now as its early morning)
Anyway, my suggestion is to look at films and videogames, maybe distort the names a little, and hope it comes out alright

Victims of the Game sounds quite emo.. I think one of the best ways to think up a band name is think of some initials, (in your case maybe V.O.T.G) and then think of words that you could link together using those initials... such as; Vices of the Great, Valium overrules The Giant. Random but pretty cool |
