I wrote this and my band has been performing it live atshows for a couple months now. its been getting good feedback so far but its always best to spread the word as far as possible so here it is. Any feedback is welcome

You're leaving, leaving, leaving just in time
Cuz I'm crashing, running, running out of time
I was smiling, smiling, knowing you were mine
You said forever, forever, forever you and I
Forever, forever, forever is a lie

I don't know what it is that you have chosen to do to me
Leave me alone in the cold all alone without sympathy
Why is it that you so heartlessly opted to ruin me
Shattered me damaged me left me alone without empathy

I was crying, crying, crying out to you
You were walking, leaving, I thought I needed you
Cuz I was living, living, living just for you
But deep down, inside me, deep down inside I knew

I don't know what it is that you have chosen to do to me
Leave me alone in the cold all alone without sympathy
Why is it that you so heartlessly opted to ruin me
Shattered me damaged me left me alone without empathy

I was blinded, blinded, blinded to the truth
I was blinded, blinded, till the truth came into view
I don't need you, need you, instantly I knew
You don't need me, need me,apart we'll be just fine
alone, alone, alone we'll be alright
alone, alone, alone we are just fine

Thanks for sharing Rick!! I enjoyed reading your lyrics. Do you have the real song to listen to somewhere?

Unfortunately the only two songs we have in MP3 format right now are John's (my bandmate) we've got this song recorded on casette tape and it isn't just a tape recording we actually recorded it correctly and well it is just exported into casette. What is the best way to get it from there to my computer Question Is there a cable or something i can hook into my soundcard or anything Question

Thanks for the positive feedback on the lyrics though Smile

I'm not sure what I think about the repetition throughout... are the repeated words sung by another vocalist?

Its all sung by John. Ordinarily I'd agree with the repitition not working but in this peice I think it goes well... But I wrote it too so who knows... Its gone over pretty well at the few shows we've used it in. When we get it on mp3 even a rough copy I'll post the link here.

First off, these are good lyrics. I am not a musical genius, but I do have a passion for it, and can usually see, generally, if a song has good flow, among other things. I would also agree about the repitition, but as a songwriter (hopeful to sing), I know what you mean. I've stopped using as much of it, but I used to do some repitition, and when I sang it out loud, it sounded decent. So, I'd have to hear it. But not on this computer... No, no, no. -Too slow.

Last thing, I like the imagery a lot. You have the gift of words, that some writers are lucky to have. If you get a chance, check out my first lyrical post, and let me know your thoughts, or whatever. I'd like to hear anyone's views on it, especially other song writers.

Cheers and a smile!
