I think this is a great idea. It's a great way to spread the word about all the different styles of music that UBW has to offer. |

yea im all for puting out a compilation cd.i could do a little promoting of it up here in canada and send a few promo copy's to the press and stuff.  |

Alek,
I don't know how but I missed your post from July! Thanks for the indepth explanation. I REALLY do want to do a compilation CD, but I think it's too early. What I would like to do is start a list of artists that are interested (like everyone in this thread) and perhaps in a few months revisit it. There are still "LOTS" of things I would like to do for the site itself, and these will all take time. Once I have the "core" features and navigation finished, I will be ready to do all kinds of promotions to get the word out about our artists! I think getting the site fully ready and more established will actually end up HELPING us with the compilation cd distribution, etc...
Thanks to everyone for your input!!!! Please continue to post your thoughts here as this will be our thread to keep the ideas coming.
Don, you mentioned you could help us get this promoted in canada, which would be great! Tell me more!

Ron,
I have to agree that it's too early for a cd compilation. First, UBW need more bands and much more members 2nd) UBW has to be much Known by ppl, radio and on a general way everything that is in connection with music "business". But YES this Cd project will have to succeed!
Everyone can try to help to promote in his country ( or area). And maybe the first way to promote UBW is to find places to stream UBW stations ( shops, pubs, cybercafe,etc....) including "UBW ads" ( and it doesn't cost anything).
And for sure I'd be so happy to see one of my tracks on this Cd and the following....
