Hello there everyone!
I am Marc, a musician from England. This is my first demo CD which I want everyone to enjoy!! I am inspired by lots of different music such as Aphex Twin, Autechre, Plaid and many others. I enjoy using natural sounds to make rhythms as well as going time stretch crazy!! If you like my tunes or would be interested in doing some remix or collaboration work, drop me a line or sign the guestbook with your comments, and i'll be sending out exclusive MP3 remixes, etc in the near future!
There's 3 tracks for you to hear.......Here's the web address:

Thanks for your time! |

I really like Special. I didn't have time to listen to the others, though. |

hi Marc...am streaming 'Ickle Mewgul' (nice title)..and is taking ages..
Try uploading them here and be sure to do a Lo-Fi version as well, you'll get heaps of listens.
Oh, it's started, nice production! cool intro and love the gradual percs. As I'm on dialup, I'm getting 1 minute bursts and so far your music sounds brilliant.
Definitely put them up here man
Cheers

you can use the 'lo-fi creator' in the page manager at ubw or can convert it yourself.. it should be up to 64kbps for dial-uppers i think? |

Hi, welcome to the site, I'm new here as well.
It sounds from your influences that I might enjoy your music! Checking it out now.
'Special' very nice intro, sounds deep, slow and almost churchlike. Wide sound and lots of attention to detail in the percussion, that takes patience! Baseline is cool and upbeat, and lots of well-timed melodic elements giving a really nice build to the whole thing. I liked this pretty much straight away, but it becomes more and more hypnotic with all of the interweaving melodic lines. Lots of dance/ trance influence is apparent. Great track!
'Ikle Mewgli'- sounds more experimental. Again very good sounds, a lot of thought/ talent has obviously gone into the production. This didnt grab me so much straight away, but that bell like sound is nice when it comes in, very dreamlike. I like this just as much as the first one when it gets going, a very warm glitchy dreamlike and melodic groove.
'Mxfrmlhg'- That is a classic IDM song title. Nice sonic hook. This is again quality.
Twisting elusive melody, lightened by some very nice high trancy synths. Those breakdowns later on are awesome! Nice chopped vocal sample as well- variety just at the right time.
Spot on- all three tracks are different and they are all extremely good. I recommend anyone into IDM to check this out!!!
Congratulations, this is superb work , I'm joining the mailing list.

thanks mate for the reviews...glad you enjoyed the tunes!! That is what its all about and if even one person enjoys my music, i'm chuffed! You are spot on with some of the things you mentioned...eg, patience needed for all that intricate percussion work. I use lots of chopped up bits of my friends vocals or just sounds i've collected that day on md, and then the arduous, yet totally fun part of piecing it all together.
I will chat again with you soon mate...its just really late, i'm really tired and stoned and need to sleep. Have just been checking out your music, but will have to give you some feedback when i get more of a chance to have a good listen...liking what i've heard though! good stuff!!! |
