Conax,
It does sound like your browser.
Do a right-click on the .m3u file on your desktop and choose 'open-with' and then 'choose program'. Pick the mp3 player you want as your default. Before you click OK, click the box that says ALWAYS USE THE SELECTED PROGRAM.
Then clear your cookies and cache and try to play a song again.
