Thanks for the feedback. I just started the banner at ultimate-guitar, so I'm glad to see it's bringing in some fresh talent!!!!
Regarding the interview, I have a few in the works, but I would like to get as many as possible to give people interesting interviews from every genre. Give me a few weeks to get my current ones complete, and we will get you an interview set up.
Thanks again!!!

ah, awesome Ron. I'll hold you to that! =] Thanks for the quick responce. and by the way, I've added a nice banner of yours on the bands myspace, which has 1,700 friends, and gets alot of traffic, so that should help out the site maybe a bit! and also a good one to my personal MS, and mine's been on myspace for awhile, and with time you get higher in the system, so I get a good amount of views on that one too! Just helpin' out.

Thanks bro... I really appreciate it. We're still building our size, but with great members like you, we will grow even quicker, which means more scouts and opportunities!!! Great to have you here!

Yes the spotlights on the home page (as well as the top of the forums) are premium members in random rotation. There are also spotlights on other websites that feature our content. You can view some samples in the 'random artist block' thread in this same forum.

Ron, . .I think the site is great. I like the logo and the way you have it set up.
One improvement could be in the forum song review trade, it doesn't seem like many people use it. I know I've put up quite a few threads asking for feedback, but they're always for new up-loads sorry if I put up too many, but I try and review and give as much feedback as possible. Maybe you could let non-members review songs? Have a forum specifically for that only and on a trial basis to see if people will treat it with respect, make it so they have to leave an email address or something . . . just a thought. Very few people use the comments on the artists page or the rating system as well. . . .
I like what you did with adding the favorite icon on the charts, again very few people use it though...
You're doing a great job and congradulations on a unique site for unsigned artists like us. . It's fantastic that there's a place where we can have our music heard!!!
Thank you,
Erick . . . .
ps: do some artist that are always on the top of the main chart really get that many plays (50+) in a 48 hour period, from different people? . . |

Erick,
Thanks for your feedback. I really love to hear what people are thinking about the site!!
I agree that the site gains LOTS more value when songs are getting reviews, ratings, and comments. I have done a lot within the site itself to make leaving feedback simple, and in some cases rewarding (points in the forums). I also intend to roll out points to the song comments section so you earn points when you leave comments on a song. I've been busy working on the light theme and I still have a few more things to finish up there.
Ultimately we just need to grow. We've got a really nice 'base' of people (like yourself), but we need more, as well as more casual members. It takes time to grow a site like this, but we are heading in the right direction. Once we are 10 times the size we are now, you will see LOTS more feedback and activity in the forums. I'm really excited about the prospects, and like you it seems to me sometimes that it's not happening quick enough. I feel comfortable though that the right foundation is being laid and we are on our way to a really great site.
Regarding the plays, yes, the plays are from different people for the folks in the charts. It could be someone that has a lot of friends and family that help to inflate their plays temporarily. These sceneraios tend to play themselves out over time.
Once again, thanks for the feedback and for so many great posts at the site! It's great to have you here!

I've noticed that on the photo gallery pages all the photos are squished to the same
dimensions until you click on them to pop-up in another window,
rather than retaining the right shape for the thumbnail.
Is there a way to fix this maybe?

Also, a few more themes for basic members would be good.
Something darker maybe?
Hey i just noticed it's been exactly a year since i joined! woo hoo.

I would really like to be able to send direct-links to my songs.
It would be easier to send you songs to friends that way, dont u think? |

i think you CAN do that. you can grab the link from your artist web page, and post it anywhere (even in an email i think, and people will still be able to stream or download from here without having to come to this site and load up your artist page.
It'll still count towards your play/download count as well.
eg. the link to stream your song "Rise Of..." would be:
http://www.unsignedbandweb.com/music/play.php?band_id=5530&song_id=12348&mode=song_hifi
i think that'll work.
Ron?

Well, this site a lot to offer already. It has blogs, an arcade, photo gallery, chatroom, and a few other things to keep you busy. I just wish more people would come here and enjoy this site. But yeah, the store needs an update but other than that, UBW is straight.

Thanks Ad-Na-Ma!! I really appreciate the feedback.
I agree, we need more folks to make use more attractive. To that end, I am working on several different things to increase our traffice and hopefully they will pay off in the next few months!!
I agree the store needs an update. That's one of the next things on my to do list.
