If I didn't tell you when you requested the opinions initially, I've sure I've told you at some point or another.

In any case, I really enjoy the music you have to offer us. You're a really talented musician and I'm looking forward to hearing more. Keep it up!

Brooksy,

I listened to "Me and Julie". It certainly has that 'classic' Brooksy sound. Lyrics are very well written, and the song has a very 'americana' style to it. Is there briticana??? The music sound like traditional folk and is played and recorded in keeping with that notion.

VERY good song Brooksy!

HI BROOKSY I WILL REVIEW EACH SONG STARTING WITH "QUEENSWAY".

LOVE YOUR VOICE AND GREAT LYRICS AND LIKE A LOT OF SONGS AS YOU MAY HAVE NOTICED YOURSELF, THE FIRST LISTEN NEVER GETS YOU, BUT WHEN YOU GO BACK TO IT THE FAMILIARITY BRINGS IT TO LIFE AND IT IS THEN YOU THINK "OH I LIKE THIS " OR" I REMBERER THIS WHATS NEXT". !LET ME KNOW IF THAT'S THE SAME FOR YOU.
ANYWAY BACK TO "QUEENSWAY" THE HAMMERING OF THE GUITAR WITH THE PLEC IS TO DISTRACTING IT SOUNDS LIKE THICK STRINGS HIT WITH A THICK PLEC AND FOR ME, IT STOPPED ME ENJOYING THE SONG.
I KNOW IT'S HARD TO ADJUST AND A THIN PLEC CAUSES CLICKING. IF OTHERS DISAGREE WITH THIS DISTRACTION THEN SORRY FOR MY OPINION.

P.S IF YOU DO'NT WANT ME TO REVIEW YOUR OTHERS YOU BETTER STOP ME QUICK :-)

"ME&JULIE" NA NA NA NA LUV IT !SERIOUSLY I ENJOYED IT AND THE GUITAR CALMS DOWN WHEN YOUR VOCALS START BUT STILL HAMMERS IN BETWEEN.
I AM SORRY TO GO ON ABOUT IT BUT I WOULD PUT YOUR SONGS ON A CD TO LISTEN, BUT FOR ME THATS THE ONLY THING THAT SPOILS IT .

BUT SO FAR FOR BOTH SONG A DEF YEAH!

Im not gonna lie...Im not blown away by your work. I know this sounds harsh and Im sorry for that. I just expoect honest opinions as an artist and I would think others would too. In the three songs you have up it sounds like your using the same chords in a different progression in each, therefore they all kinda sound alike. You do have a good rustic voice. Also, the recording could be better. You seem oldschool with your approach, a guitar and mic is all you need. Dont get me wrong, thats cool. I think if your songs had some cool riffs or something along those lines it would be more interesting to listen to. My opinion of a good song is one that grabs you and takes you in and holds you there in that moment for as long as possible. ok, now Im rambling....I think there is better music in you, but until your guitar playing finds a new level, your songs wont either....I know Im harsh, sorry.

Thanks for that...appreciated...Yeah, my guitar sucks, but I'm a singer/lyricist by trade...guitar was there just to add body. Believe me I wish I could do more. Infact it's not exactly the same progression....each is done in a different key, but the similiar chord is A.
Again, thanks for the feedback, always grateful for some...not that I ever ask, lol...once I get a band behind me....maybe...one day...some day....over the rainbow Wink

hey Acoostik.....checkin' Run To Me cause Soundclick wouldn't let me listen to the others for some reason... Confused

Dunno if you ever heard of Runrig, but it's reminds me of a couple of their "Mist On The Mountain" songs. If you've never heard of 'em then this review is pretty pointless, lol.

You have that kinda breathless voice, that whispering tree kinda vocal famous in the early 70's on most acoustic and semi acoustic tracks. The ONLY problem I find is there is no HONESTY in the vocal arrangement, a little like a train runnin' on the track...very linear ( a little like my guitar playin' Wink ). It's all in tune, just a little emotionless. Hopefully soundclick will let me listen to the rest later on when they get their fingers out.

But the track as a whole, without all the dissecting is interesting enough for a second listen. And since I'm a lyrical supremo I will say your lyrics are pretty class too.... Wink

Wow, thanks brooksy. Appreciate the honest feedback.....I can take it Wink
Im just so sick of everyone saying , hey good job, you have great vocals, awesome song, blah blah....there is constructive critisism everyone can share with one another. I wanna get better, not just walk around thinking "Im good" when im not, ya know? I dont know. Anyway, cheers brooksy for lending an ear to my music.
