hey, i was looking at the charts and noticed that a track had received 528 hits in one week the next closest was under 200!
not to take anything away from the person but is that a glitch? That's a massive leap all of a sudden. They've gone from having about 400 plays to just under 1000.
Like to know how to increase market profile like that!
Also, I'm now knocked off the number 1 spot for most listens in the alternative category!!! |

just to be clear i wasnt trying to suggest any nefarious undertakings. i was more thinking it might be a technical problem.
of course, it is also just as likely that said band have just performed a massive supporting gig or had some radio play or something like that and have had loads of hits as a result.
obviously if it is wrong doing we should throw rocks and spit but innocent until proven guilty! |

Ron is traveling this week, and I've let him know about the chart gliche. He's not sure what it could be, but he'll try to look into it tonight, but it probably won't be until he gets back before he can really look at it and try to fix it. Just wanted to let you know that we're aware of it!!!
Take Care.

Was that my tune, "Metric"? Yeah, I saw that and was quite embarrassed. I immediately posted my concerns about the obvious glitch in the charts in another forum. The problem was with the reset of the server cache or something. It has been rectified.
I was unaware of this thread until moments ago. Guys, I appreciate the mature way this was handled here. No names were mentioned and no accusations were made. It was correctly assumed that a technical problem was behind the outrageous numbers I received. I'm happy to see that the folks here didn't leap to any conclusions.
By the way, this situation benefitted me: those insanely high numbers actually brought in some legimate plays. I just hope those curious listeners weren't disappointed.
By the way, I've always believed "Suited Slave" is a much better song!
So is "Rise Above." |

I'll tell you how to get that many hits from so many people: Make some good music that a lot of people can enjoy listening to!
