hehe..so now i get to review organism's "piano" song. Well you know how i feel about the piano..so i will just let that go  . The first synth that comes in is great. Very spacey...a little loud perhaps. The beat is your basic break beat pattern, nothing wrong with something simple...leaves more room for the melody me thinks. Although...its pretty fast...it still sounds like a break. At later parts in the song..the drums seem to get completely covered up by some of those melodies. I dont think its a problem of the drums being to soft...i think the melodies are a bit too loud.
Anyways, the synths seem to be the main thing going on here..so back to them. At 1:51 the next synth is introduced. I like this one as well. Gives the song a rolling feel. The little tweaks on the synths here also didnt go unoticed and do a lot to make the song sound "cooler" (is that a word?). However this is one of the times when the drums are kinda getting crammed into the background. 2:20..very relaxing. I dig the organ much more than the piano...i guess thats the hippy in me. The vox are great. The reggae feel they add fits the tune perfectly. When the first synth line comes back in...it sounds too loud to me.
The pause at 3:15 was very nice. I dug the little woosh fx going on too. Ahhhh, how i love the *whoosh* sound. I think actually all the other melodies are fine...just the first melody (as in the first one you bring in at the beginning) is too loud through out the entire song. The synths are great though...they surround you in a wash of sunshine. Laying in a field on a blanket, thats what this song makes me feel like. The end is nice...a good finish to the track. I think a little breakdown would be a nice thing...but is not missed much. More piano at 4:20...sounds pretty good though. I dont like the piano as a sound...i am assuming this is you playing, and i am in no way knocking your skillz as a playa. The piano "playing" is excellent. If its you then it shows you have been at it for some years.
Its a very happy track, full of rays of sunshine. Not as much my thing as your acid break stuff, but still...your talent as a producer is enough to keep me very interested. first melody: a bit too loud. Everything else is great. I havent even mentioned the fact that its played live, which is simply amazing. That totally blows me out of the water and is a great great accomplishment for any electronic artist. This is a great track for anyone looking for somethign to brighten there day...or for someone looking to enhance an already good time  |
