Deftones= Make you want to go crazy, or soothe you to sleep...
Either way, I'm with ya. To give some information on what the last response (dfranklin77) mentioned. They said they didn't like the deftones last album. I liked it, though, just less than their better achievements. It was decent, but... I found something out a pretty long while ago. Chino said, during the beginning process of writing/recording/performing their next studio effort, that they tried to use less in the way of complex guitar riffs on the last album. Their next album is finished, but they've been performing it around the world, and will be releasing it, they say, sometime in fall of 05'. I've heard very little of it, but from a short live clip, though the quality was horrible, it got me very anxious to hear the entire next album. It sounds similar to something from White Pony, but it is all it's own. Last thing on the album, The tentative album title is "Saturday Night Wrist", as confirmed by Chino. In an interview someone asked about that, and he said somethin' about him thinking about that one for a little while. Oh boy... I answered your question alright. Go Deftones!! (waves pom-poms. J/K!)

Well... Deftones has always been an influence to the way I play the drums in my band. Even though it isn't very noticed on the songs we have uploaded here, newer songs we've been working on and recording lately, have that Deftones touch on the drums and especially in the rythms of the guitars...
For me, the thing about that "Deftones Touch" comes from the feeling that odd tuning of the guitars transmit. It just fills a lot, with very, very deep feeling, noticed specially on songs like "Change" and "Knife party"...
But what I can't still understand is why Chino has to sing horribly live? maybe its those cigars hes been smocking... |

Man, I've never seen them live, but my cuz', Mike, he's about 7-8 years older than I am, so when the Deftones were coming up in the industry, he saw them at a very small venue, in Cleveland, Ohio, U.S., and he said that everything about them was incredible. This was probably six months before the release of "Adrenaline". I wish I could've been there. He said there were around 500 people in the place, and I've only seen one very talented band in a small venue, and they disbanded before getting any national/international attention. Cheers!
