Yeah, it's me. I just posted a new song which I may use in round 2 at the SC comp, assuming I make it to round 2 and that's not guaranteed. Anyway, the song is "Daybreak in Heaven". One thing I would like to know is what sub-genre would this fit under? Is it sound like trip-hop? I don't know for sure but I'm sure there will be some opinions. Thanks guys....
cheers,

hey, for what it's worth - I'm likin' this tune. sortof the R&B influence over top a rockish riff on the sawtooth synth. again, you know I'm not into electronica, but for what it's worth I enjoyed the tune. can you call it rhythm and roll? smili |

LOL Alek... I thought my speakers were broken too, and they're brand new!!!! That fuzz effect is pretty wild. The high pitched melody is quite a contrast to the fuzzy low beat. Nice work, this is really pushing the envelope of several genre's. Ambient, Electronica, Drift?, Film Music, ??? I'm full of ideas...
Enjoyed the song, now let me tape my speakers back together....

Thanks, I am glad you enjoyed it. I'm not much into electronica myself.
On "another site" my blurb is "Electronic music for people who don't like electonic music". I grew up on rock, jazz, and classical so those influences probably show more than any electronica.
cheers,

I didn't think of that but I guess this does push the limits of the speakers high and low ends...
Glad you liked it Ron! |

Alek is man I thought the same when I heard the first bass. My speakers!!!!
Daybreak in Heaven : really like it man especially that weird sound and it all gels perfectly and the lack of percs. adds to it's feeling.
Great work
I reckon Ambient. |

Thanks, I'm not used to writing speaker busters! I was thinking the beat might have pushed it out of ambient, but I can live with ambient. It's not like basically everything I write is mostly ambient.... |

I was not having any intention in listening to anything tonight seeing that I just bought some new music, but after reading all that jazz about broken speakers I just had to listen.
Anyways, I'm glad I decided to listen. I like this one a lot. Reminds me a lot of Ulrich Schnauss(that's a good thing seeing that Ulrich Schnauss is one of my favorites). As far as the genres go, I believe I am even worse at genre identification than you are, so I'd say that I agree with UnAceroMl and say it's trip-hop/ambient. maybe Ambient Trip-Hop? |
