If anyone wants a few numbers of London promoters just let me know. We've got a guy who's okay (relative to other promoters) who can get Camden Underworld, Carling Academy Islington (the smaller room), Sound Cafe and Equinox (Leicester Square) among others - he's connected to Plum Promotions - name of Al Douglas. If you have a following and he likes the stuff you basically get £1 per head for first 50 and £2 for the next 50 etc...... Never going to make real money but normally covers costs. Got us some radio and magazine coverage and worth it for showcases as venues are all reasonably well run and sound is good.
Just thought I'd offer. Any one fancy returning the favour?? |

Been out of town so apologies to anyone waiting for a reply. Will get on it tomorrow. Sorry I missed the Wed 4th gig - I was still in Brazil. If you fancy it we're at the CAMDEN UNDERWORLD, London, May 13th.
Ghotti will be returning to the Camden Underworld on Friday 13th May. As a well known London rock venue, the Underworld has seen the likes of Soundgarden and the Chilli Peppers grace it's stage. Situated just opposite Camden Tube doors will be opening at 9pm. For more info please contact us direct at www.ghotti.com
See you there

dudes, AVOID Al Douglas AT ALL COSTS - he's a complete rip off merchant...only in it for the money, doesn't give a sh*t about the quality of bands he puts on, and charges you 80 squids to play (boycotte any pay to play gigs in any case, its out of order man and a total breach of our rights as musicians!) You're much better off playing The Garage and The Borderline (both through mean fiddler www.meanfiddler.com. The borderline even pays you 40 squids whether you bring any fans or not), Upstairs at the Garage through glasswerk, www.glasswerk.co.uk, or the bull and gate (www.bullandgate.co.uk). All of these are not pay to play and good venues. Once again. AVOID AL DOUGLAS!!!! you have been warned!

Sound like you had a rough ride dude.
Thanks for the leads though. I'll give them a go.
Al is what Al is and I don't know the story obviously. All the same we did quite a few gigs with him and he never screwed us or anything. Like I said though - sounds like you had a bad one. Checked your website out. I'd like to hear the tunes with v's sometime. Nice guitar work. |
