Hello everyone, my name is Kris Farrow, it's my pleasure to meet you all. I currently play a lot of music for other people that doesn't mean much to me, and I don't know how much longer my heart can take it. So if you could give my own music a listen, that would be great. And if it brings you enjoyment of any kind, please pass it on to other people, I would really appreciate it. I went to Berklee College of Music and I have a degree in jazz saxophone, which is what I did for a living in NY where I'm from. One day it didn't feel right anymore though, so I packed my car and drove away to Austin, TX to play guitar and start singing instead. I guess Michael Frazier is the reviewer here, so thank you in advance if you decide to review my song Michael...it's all about helping each other succeed.
This particular song, "Anywhere", was written/performed/recorded by me for inclusion on an "acoustic" EP I'm working on right now.

I apologize for not responding sooner to your review requests. On March 1 my dear Loretta, my wife of 25 years, passed away unexpectedly and I have been very busy since then. I hope to get the energy back soon to listen to your tunes and provide a meaningful review. Until then, Michael

Peace be to your wife, my friend. Pay no mind to my request, and spend your time celebrating your wife's memory. And everyone else, go on and tell someone how much you care about them, and be happy you still have them. Smile

Michael Frazier reviews Jack Maisie - Your Illusion

Ahhh, Emo. Well, not my fav but it sure gets your message across. Vocal gives the sad and angry touch to the guitar part that could be many moods. Decent lyrics. Vocal feels a bit strained and harsh like it is trying to hard to be something but it still works with the material. Decent guitar work as far as being in tune and on time and the progression works fine for what you are after here. song maintains an even flow throughout and the mix is listenable. Overall a nice effort on a difficult well used subject matter. Enjoyed the listen. Michael

Michael Frazier review Moulann - On The Go

Hey Moulon, you have a great voice - nice tenor and very stong in the range of this tune. Nice relaxing feel to this tune with the added energy of the additional vocals. Very solid piece of work. Better than a lot of the junk that's on the radio. Nice song construction, recording is very clean and clear and the mix is right on. This tune is a winner - and just so you know this is not a genre I usually listen to because so much of it is just repeats of somehting else. You have something fresh here that sounds and feels good. I appreciate the listen. Sounds like you already have a solid following and I hope you keep it going. Excellent work. Delightful listen. Michael

Michael frazier reviews The Green Street Three - Get High

You asked for a review of Falling Upwards but it wasn't on the page anymore when I got here so I listened to Get High.

It would be helpful to have the lyrics posted. Kind of a scat rock tune it seems. Vocalist seems to be working pretty hard at getting an edge to fit with the music so it's hard to get the idea of the real vocal quality. Decent guitar work for the style - just . Nice song construction - changes keep things moving along well. Drums are nice and crisp and pretty much on the beatL yrics are a bit repetetive and I'm struggling to find a meaning other than it's a long way home - which I already knew. Mix could use a little tweaking to keep everything in line consistently - the guitar is too loud in spots. Also, I'm not sold on the low backup vocal. It's marginal. Overall a pretty solid tune. Enjoyed the listen. Michael

Michael Frazier reviews Cyprian - Dead and Buried

No Lyrics posted so it's hard to hear what the vocals are saying in the thrashing parts of the song. This is a guitar players song - my guitar is # 1 and the rest of the song takes a back seat to me. I need more than that - what is the message? Millions of hot lead guitar players with relatively the same licks - it's just old hat.

Actually you have done a nice job of song construction with the changes keeping things moving to a new feeling - still it's mostly loud guitar and semi buried vocal. I've listened 3 times and have no clue what the song is about. There are some cool moments reminiscent of Ambrosia. I just think if you focused on the smoother parts of the music and stopped bowing to the ego of the guitar player things would sound better in the mix. Still - great changes to keep the different parts of the tune fresh. It would also be nice if the vocalist wasn't always yelling at me like I'm deaf. Say what you have to say but stop yelling at me. I mean I'm thinking I'll go home from work and stick on a CD of a guy yelling at me? NOT.

Anyway - lots of musical talent - just way over the top in my opinion but that's your style and you do it well so stick on it. Have fun and thanks for the listen. Michael
