Love it!!!!

Listening to 'control' now. The guitar is beautiful, and your singer has a fantastic voice!!

The lyrics and harmonies are also really well done.

I will be bookmarking this one for future listening!!!! You guys are incredible!!!

AWESOME to have you at the unsigned band web!

All, I've posted this on other threads, but if you like Rock music, check Ghotti out... You all know I don't blow smoke - this is some of my favorite rock music I've come across on UBW.

Just listening now.
You guys are very good. The recording quality and production is second to none.
I love the guitaring very strong vocals and a very good solid rythym section.

Excellent recording. Recording all the tracks live adds more to the feeling. Not my usual taste in song but enjoyable with great musicianship.

Just a quicky - if you had to choose one of these songs to send off to industry - which one and why. Dark and mysterious forces are at work and help is asked for...... Wink

I would say go with control.

The nice mellow intro builds a nice ambience right from the beginning, and the acoustic sound fantastic. I think this also showcases the vocals better than the other two songs, which is pretty important.

BEST OF LUCK!!!!

Of the Ghotti/Soulfish tunes I've heard my 3 favorites are

Fallen
Control
Sunflowers

"Filed away" is not the same calibur of song, nor is "Mercury Rising" . I like "I don't Mind" pretty well and it has alot of interesting pionts, but the 3 above are probably the 3 I'd consider as a showcase of the band.

Fallen is probably my favorite of the 3, but my question would be which tune is the most representative of the band? Also, which sound is most 'marketable" and earcatching to a label? If I was putting these 3 songs on a CD to send I'd probably order them

1) Sunflowers 2) Fallen 3) Control just because I'd want to slam the listener a little more right out of the gate. Bon Jovi releases You Give Love a Bad Name and Livin on a Prayer before they release Wanted Dead or Alive - in my view the best song on that album. Band's generally don't lead with a more laid back tune.

BUT - If I had to pick 1 tune though I'd probably go with "Fallen" or "Control" though.

"Fallen." the musicianship is "different" and so much more "artistic" than most rock music today. That's the tune that initially got me interested enough to hear the rest of your songs. The vocals on all of your tunes are not "standard" high power rock vocals, and that'll likely be something to overcome from a marketing standpoint, but the overall song presentation stands so clearly above the vast majority of what is out there. Fallen to me is a highlight.

Control. Has a more polished sound than Fallen. Vocals probably fit more with what is "expected". The musicianship and songwriting shines through very well on this one, and although I like the artistry of "Fallen" more, this song might sound more commercial to a label - and that might be the consideration that's the deal clincher.

So how's that for an answer? Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Really - I love the band's stuff. I don't think you can go wrong with "Control" if you have to go with 1 tune, but there are something about "Fallen" that I like even more, but it might not be as commercial???
