Well, what equipment you guys use? for me it's simply my computer, midi keyboard, and software (Reason 2.5, and Logic). |

Hello there!!
Fairly simple setup for me:
Cubasis 4, Acid Pro 4 (couldn't live without it!!), lots of VST plugins, various free bits and bobs, like Kristal Audio Engine, all on Win XP Home on my PC. Don't forget Steinberg Clean for mastering.
Tried to get into Cakewalk stuff, Reason, FL, and others, but the above suits the sort of music I'm making and I've worked out quite a few tricks to overcome the shortcomings of each program.
Anybody else.......??? |

yeah man. know what you mean about FL and cakewalk stuff. just doesn't work with me. I used to work with cubase, still do every now and then, but so far I'm liking logic a bit more.. |

Hi Man
I'm using Reason 2.5, Synapse Orion Platinum and some VST Instruments like ReFX ones (Vanguard, Slayer...), Albino 2 etc....and a midi keyboard.
The computer is an Athlon XP1800+ with 120Go of hard disk (not enough !!!), the sound card is a Terratec (not enough now !!!)
See You |

Computer: P4 (2.4), 1.0 gig ram, M-Audio revo, Win XP Home, slave drive for audio files
Hardware: Acoustic guitar, electric guitars, Pandora PX4, Digitech Legend, Edirol keyboard controller, Evolution X-Session (USB) controller(love it), Samson studio monitors
Software: Live! 3, Sonar 3, Steinberg mp3 pro, too many Dxi's and Vsti's to mention, too many VST and Dx plug-ins to mention. About 100(and growing) free sample CDs that come with those glossy UK mags
What I'd love to get: Melodyne 2.0 but the demo consistently and violently crashes my computer. |

Are you serious???
Do you know how much that stuff old analog stuff is worth
Heres my setup:
Intel P4 2.4
1056k of ram
audigy 2 platnium
sonar 3, sound forge 6
Cable Modem (very key, lets me stream goa trance 24/7 )
No keyboard at the molment cause my old one broke. I have just been using loads of vsts and writing out the parts in staff mode in cakewalk. I went on a huge binge this summer and dropped about 1500 dollars on vsts (i never knew what they were until about 7 month ago). Basically the cost of my computer, i have just been lazy and poor recently...but i plan on getting a keyboard ASAP. Oh yeah, i played the trumpet for about 9 years, paino for about 3, violin for about 5. Been writing music in cakewalk for about 12...wow...thats a long time. Luckly i started young (11) so im not an old geezer...yet |
