PRETZEL BOMB 2005

On January 14th, 2005, we Americans who are furious with the current President will each send one grab-bag-sized bag of pretzels to the White House (just to show we care) at the following address:

The White House
1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW
Washington, DC 20500

you know, I was wondering. if everyone hates Bush so much, and if he's such a terrible president, then why did he get reelected? can't say it's because of the electoral vote system this time, seeing as how he won the popular vote. if he's such a terrible leader, then why did the majority of proud americans decide to reelect him?

I agree rechat! I'm not a bush fan but I don't think Kerry could have cut it. Now I hope Bush can fix all the screw ups that he made!

Read George Orwell's "1984" (or a summary of it!) - that should answer your question.

I, as well as fifty-five million other Americans, think that the majority of the voters in this country are very, very stupid Smile

I have read 1984. a few times actually. if you think this is a case of Big Brother, you've got some serious problems.

see, that's where you go wrong. insulting people gets you no where. Everybody has their opinion, and you can't call them stupid just for that.

I agree that Bush is not the best president, but I don't think Kerry would have been any better. I guess that makes me stupid, as well as the majority of the other voters. Why don't we just go further and say that the entire country is stupid for having to vote on the two worst candidates we've had in a long time?

Bush won the election. If you really hate it that much, why don't you start campaigning now?

First off, I'm not old enough to campaign. Second off, I disagree with the man in office right now; I disagree with his policies and his principles. I disagree with the fact that the majority of the people in this country actually does agree with him. It saddens me, and makes me lose faith in people. I hate the fact that people can't be more open-minded (regarding Bush's principles, and those of the people who vote for him). Kerry wasn't the best alternative candidate (I'd love to see a Libertarian get in office), but he at least wouldn't push his personal morals on other people. He understands that people are different and have different opinions. I think a closed mind is ignorant, so I call the people stupid. Everyone has the right to their own beliefs, but no one has the right to force them on other people (two of the biggest issues, for example, would be gay marriage and abortion).

I'm sure that didn't answer anything, but if it did... then there you go.

I do have serious problems, but when I wrote that I was actually referring to the whole "culture of fear / remaining in power" element... Which I think is very relevant to a country that is fighting a "war" that doesnt exist, and if you argue that it does, then its a war which has been going on not since the Sept.11th attacks, but since man threw the first rock at another man.

Still, I'm just one very biased Brit... History will judge you America.

David Letterman said it the best, if I could remember what it was.
