Hi all, for this week’s post I wanted to post some of my favorite “lighter” tunes I’ve encountered on the site. I’m not affiliated with any of the artists, just like the tunes and wanted to highlight some of the talent on the UBW site.

This will also help fill out the new Weekly Favorites Lighter Side radio station with a few more tunes - tunes are being added to the Weekly Favorites “This Week” radio station and the “Lighter Side” radio station archives. A few of these may also end up on the Rock archives also. If you like to listen to these songs on radio statios you can access the stations here:

So here we go - this week’s favorite listens

Artist: Odessa “Chump”. The band is from Australia, but this tune has an authentic southern rock Black Crows type sound. Very good vocal and production. (I’m finding I like a lot of the Australian music that’s on the site).

Artist: Bobby Cameron All three of the full length tunes are very good. (The fourth tune on the site is good but it’s only about a minute long so not included below.)
“Fighter Who Believes” modern blues sound. Great production and sound. There’s not a lot of blues on the site, and this isn’t traditional blues, but it’s very good.
“What are we here for” harmonica, I love the organ sound, organic rock. Like above – very good tune.
“Human Fortress” - also very much worth a listen. Good tune. All of these are very good.

Steve Stefanowicz “Catch the Wind” upbeat acoustic tune, guitar, bass and mandolin.

Artist: Scott Allen Jones “The Gospel of…” a calm acoustic song of loss. Lofi only, but really nice song.

Artist: Todd Hunter Band “I don’t want to go home” – Well produced tasteful pop tune. Good vocals.

Artist: Michael Frazier. You’ve probably seen Michael’s song review thread in the forums. Check out some of his tunes also - Acoustic and vocal tunes. He’s got lots of good songs on his page, but a couple of my favorites are “Enjoy the Ride” and “Free and Flying”. Lofi only, but sounds good.

Lighter Side: Radha “blank” - nice instrumental. Some of the synth instruments are mixed a tad heavy for my taste, but still a good listenable tune. I like the writing and mood. Reminds me a little of Pachelbel’s Canon.

Artist: Vivid Release “Perfect” organic pop. The bio says the band is 15-16 year olds. Surprisingly good vocals if that is the case and a mellow well constructed tune..

Hope you enjoy and thanks to the artists for posting their tunes. smili
