"Grass Is Greener" was written after my road trip to Mexico with over a dozen of my friends. The song is actually a reference to three different places: Mexico, my home in Texas, and my birthplace in Wisconsin. "Grass Is Greener" is about wanting to be somewhere else, no matter where you are- about never being able to settle down.
Please let me know what you think.
Thanks!

I just wanted to bring this post back up; I'd still like to know what someone (anyone?) thinks of this song.
Thanks!

ok listening right now, nice guitars, vox are also good, but recording is a bit harsh. this could use some softer mix. it flows nicely, good harmony here. diggin the chord progression however i can't hear the bass? is there any bass or is it because of lo-fi?
and so it is over, overall i should say even though it sounds a bit harsh it is a good tune to listen to, well done, stick at it.
peace. |

Hi, Maisie.
Unprojects right about the harshness, but probably because it's in lo-fi. Diggin' the little bit of Dylan in your sounds, brilliant.
It could with some re-mastering though, especially to soften the tones a little. But I think the gritty rawness suits your songs.
What I'd like to do is take one song, not post or anything along those lines, and play around with it on Audition, see if I can straighten out the balance.
Anyhow...like I said, loving your songs..friends that pop in now and then, I always get 'em to listen to the acoustic section cause they're guitar players, too. They dig the sound too.
Keep going...Good stuff. |

Thanks for the reviews, guys!
As for the quality, I know it's pretty ugly. I'm recording directly into my computer and don't have any sort of mixing device to patch it up. Due to my lack of money, all I can afford is freeware programs, none of which I've found so far that are any good. If you have suggestions, I'd love to hear 'em.
And Unproject, there is no bass; it's just me and my acoustic guitar.
Thanks again,
JMJ |

Good song. you have some great vocals. chord progression is well done. I don't think I need to talk about the recording quality. |
