Im country so take this with grain of salt, I just received a few reviews here myself so figured I would review some new ones aswell.
I really like the guitar riffs and the vocals sound like they could be good, but the music is drowning out the vocalist. Overall I liked it, but Im country and like to hear the vocals. Good track and I really have no business reviewing punk rock, but wanted to listen give my take. |

Nice stuff but would really be better if you plug some equalisers to some track ect...
use bandpass ect...set some instruments on differents canals and apply fx n all...
Need the studio touch science this stuff is correct at the base but need a better filtering.
I know this is punk music but try to slow down a bit the bpm the music is bit confuse and hard to listen.
good musicians btw. |

welcome to the site!
track is all right as far as i can tell. i disagree with the first reviewer a bit regarding vocal levels, but i think i understand what he's saying about not being able to understand. i think you've got some frequencies bleeding into each other which can make things sound a little muddy. mixing was my biggest complaint back when i was playing in punk bands. i think when you switch time signatures the bleeding is especially present, as it took me a second to realize the drums had switched and you weren't just completely out of time. this might be an indicator that you need to separate the drum freqs a little better from the rest of the mix. although you want the recording to be a little rough around the edges (something i actually like and practice myself with my acoustic project) you still need to be listening for a little separation to keep it less muddy. since drums are really key to the driving punk sound you're shooting for (thank you for not being another pop-punk band btw!!!) their separation is key., ezpecially if you're going to experiment with moving between straight and odd time signatures. think of the drums as your roadmap as you record your tracks. good luck and thanks for sharing! |
