Very high quality recording. In mix, guitar volume almost overwhelms vocal, but not too bad. I like the wide spread of the guitar. cool drum sound too.

Overall this is a fun song. fwiw, the arrangement is a tad sparse for my taste. I'm wanting to hear maybe an acoustic guitar or something playing some chords behind the main sychronized crunch guitar and bass parts - something in addition to the tamborine to add a bit of texture to the sound.

overall cool song -

and thanks for your comments on my post. appreciated

Thanks very much Smili... I see what you mean, but we wanted to keep the tune straight forward and fun, and there was a feeling that if any other layers or instruments were to be added, it would cram the song and overdo the mix.

Any more reviews would be appreciated! Wink

Hey guys, not a bad cut. I think the recording is good and has a garage feel to it and if that's what you were going for, you did it successfully. Watch the vocal pitch... it can get away from you when you're having that much fun. -RL.

read the thread and am checking out the track. first off, it is really high energy, and has a big sound for its simplicity. i think it's maybe a ibt rough around the edges on the mix and performance, but still comes off sounding pretty professional. if you're going for simple and fun, you've hit the mark. very catchy riff and vocals. it's not really my bag, but you guys do it really well for sure! and for that you get a Pirate which is a pretty high score, mate.

thanks a lot for sharing and joining the community. it's good to have you and best of luck! Cool

Nice one... thanks Gorgatron!

Yeah, the recording has a few glitches, but then again it was done on a budget and with not enough time, but I still think it's a high quality recording, especially when you see what many band get away with recently. Smile Still - rock'n'roll isn't perfect, right?! Wink Smile

I'm not exactly sure what's it like in America with new bands, but in the UK it seem like there are 2 main kinds of bands around at the moment. Those who put layers and layers of music, keyboards, samples, enormous amount of effects etc, all wanting to sound either like U2 or retro 80s Cure-Smiths-Joy Division-Oasis. Then there are those who want to sound like ten-a-penny Green Day bubble gum "punk".

Our idea was that rock'n'roll should be primarily about catchy, interesting, dancy, groovy, straight-to-the-point tunes, not overcrammed with layers, and there are not many bands around that try to do this. It also makes much more sense when played live at gigs. Having said so, we never exclude a possibility to include keyboards, brasses, samples on our songs, but as long as they are blended into the mix, rather then dictate it.

Anyway, thanks so much to everyone who wrote reviews. It means a lot, and it's definitely very, very useful. Thanks for all the tips as well. Wink

Of course, if anyone else wants to write a short review, please do so! Smile

Cheers!

yeah, it's total rock-n-roll. when i was listening i kind of thought about ACDC and that their tracks are always huge, catchy, and simple. i think it makes for really good live shows.

i totally understand what you mean about music in the UK, too. i like a lot of the more obscure stuff, and the layered style thing you mentioned, but i don't kid myself that a lot of those lads are pretentious arses. i don't think i'd want to associate with them, either.

plus, everyone loves a good rock song! make sure to post more cuts when you get 'em. cheers! Cool

Cool catchy tune, stacks of energy coming through. Another guitar would definitely give the song that bit more though. Nice work.

Cheers,

Dan.

Cool high energy driving track...Its a very catchy song..It reminds me of the very early 80's time before all the glam stuff came out big..Say on the lines of stranger, later shooting star and cars. Not that its in anyway the same, its just the general feel on the song which as I said sounds very catchy and solid..Mix and recording sound good to me but its mixing a bit of warmth on the end master mix.
