hi there. i've casually dabbled in songwriting for a while without committing to any finished songs, but i finally got a few tracks down last week.
id like to know if i've got anything worth pursuing/discarding?
thanks,
j

Hey Jack,
Welcome! I just listened to "Inset Day" Nice track. Great smokey vibe. Nice vocal treatment. Love the doubles. Not a huge fan of the snare but the bass drum is effective. I think you're a very inventive songwriter.
.............................ok. i listend to "event"- nice guitar arrangement. ..listened to "no strain" - my favorite piece. love the lyrics. ..listened to "white wires" - another nice song. I have been entertained. You have a very nice dreamy vision/quality please never lose that. Keep up the songwritting and recording. - r.l. |

thanks a lot lodato! is your aversion to the snare in "inset day" the programming or the EQ, or just it being there is general? I thought it helped the song to get moving without adding too many extra guitar layers etc.
do you have a page?

it's too dry and sounds too programed when the song flows so naturally on it's own. I think if you found a sample of an interesting drum loop would be better. nothing too busy but something that has a groove.

listening to intersection. it's great, quite understated but the kind of thing that will stick in my head. nice.
i'll think about that snare, even though i quite like the almost military-style rapping of it with the lyrics.

if you like it, then keep it in there. you might try some light reverb on it to blend in the mix better. |

Nice guitar sound on the first tune, Inset Day. nice job micing that up. nice backgrd vox and mood.
Listened to Event also. Nice mood here also. like the layering of parts. Cool to do the entire tune without a drum, but it's very percussive nontheless. |

very musical, i'm listening 'inset day", make good music with not a lot of volume in my speakers, romantic music, i don't understand the vocals cause i'm french, very trippy (if i trip on something it means it good or very very very bad)
trippin well n liking this decade of gray costum as artist band, have something special.
good music on there... |
