I'm not sure but perhaps you are too close to the mic because accent in voice are bit saturated peaked.
nice guitar play, this is totally unpluged like, with mastering this could sound very great.
great outro...
vibrato with presence in voice is excellent.
good work.
try a pluged version of this !
good. |

Hi PPB,
Thanks for your advice about the recording - I'll take note.
Your review is generous - as always - I appreciate that.

You have a Good and clear voice - I appreciate when I can understand each single word (BTW I'm a German, maybe that's why). The sound of your recordings - not just this one - is always a bit high-pitched. Might be due to the way you do it. I use to wear cheap earphones myself for my home recording, and I was quite shattered when I replaced the old ones: most of my recordings until that time had a quite piercing sound they weren't meant to have.
Cheers,
Bernd |

Thanks Bernd,
Thanks for taking the trouble to listen to the songs - I appreciate that.
Also that's some useful advice - and I think that it supports what PPB was saying about the sound.
(My headphones are poor quality it's true!)

when i feel really inspired and enginering hard i'm on my headphone psycho at night, then the wake up a clean hi fi speakers mastering on acceptable level of quality is my idea. |

Hey Paul, I'm from the old school way back when, but that's all I'll reveal!..
I like your song a lot. It's honest and melodic. The recording isn't bad to my ears. It's just an acoustic recording plain and simple. Your levels are fine for what you're doing. Nothing hurt my ears and was musical enough. It's not radio ready but a lot of what I do isn't either. I just know when I like what I'm listening to and I like your song and enjoyed listening to it. It has a lonliness to it that I relate with in my alone time. Thanks for that. -r.l. |

Hi Lodato,
I'm sorry that I missed your kind words about this song. I'm so pleased that you got something from it.
Take care
