Mistrust....
After visiting a few boards it seems that some break down the Electronica sub-genre into MANY sub categories... What would you say the "core" categories are within Electronica???
Trance...Dance......Ambient.......?????? Any more???

Good question, my music has infusions of jazz and funk in there but also has elements of, ...well, electronica. What would that be? I'm tempted to put it in the acid jazz catagory but I think that's for more organic productions isn't it? |

I really have just about no clue about electronica genres. Never really paid any attention to electronic music until I started making it. |

Some says that there's is something like 80 main sub-genre...but I saw a more than 1000 sub-genre site ( gonna search and post the link).
And everyday new sub-genre are coming....so....
On the other hand music shop generally use around 20 sub-genres....

Offtopic : I just realize that Anubis is "the downtempo pilots"!!!!!! Great productions guys! Just spoken about ya in the "I find that" thread yesterday!

This is a great site if you want to learn about sub-genres.

It shows how ridiculous everything has gotten, since there are so many. If i had to guess I would say at least 100. And they are all very similar, which is very annoying to me. Still its a cool site, good for a couple laughs if nothing else |
