Yes.. Toured the USA for about 9 years... Some covers and some origanals. You get to meet a lot of cool people! Living out of hotels gets old though..... There's no place like home. I was lucky to tour when the club scene was huge.86' - 95' Played some BIG places. It's a shame how the bizz went to shit! |

I would like to go and tour around the world, but I don't have a band. I love to sing and write music, and design websites. Do you all have bands here? I think that it would be kool to have a band, and get to go on stage to hear all those ppl screaming your name. I would also like to record my own songs that I wrote. Well talk to ya'll later.

gigging as a band can be a lot of work. unless you have "roadies", you're gonna be moving all kinds of equipment, setting it up, performing, taking it down, driving home at 4am... that said, playing live is great when everyone in the band is working it and the audience is connecting. playing live can really suck when people are off and the audience really couldn't care less...
i was in a cover band for about 8 years and we played all over the NYC area for mostly private gigs (read $$$ even got to play the Boston Museum of Fine Arts (they won't make that mistake again... it's somehow different when a Monet rattles off the wall upstairs
we even managed to get a number of original pieces into our gigs and that was useful because you can gauge how people react to them and over time, you may modify them a bit, or create new songs based on the reaction. so even if you find people wander off and sit down when your new piece (that you thought would hit #1) is playing, do not let it phase you, it could mean that because it is new, people might not know how to react to yet, keep at it, try other numbers, arrangements, sequences of songs, throw in a cover song, stop and talk to the audience for a few minutes to break the ice, whatever it takes but if you keep at it and overcome any fear of rejection, an audience can really help you hone your music like no other method. |

I used to do some coffee house gigs as a solo act, but that was before most of you were born so I'm sure I don't remember you from the audience.... |

Playing live is the single most fun part of being a musician in my opinion!
If you've never played live, definitely give it a try, no matter what age! | Yeah - what he said...two different sides of things though. Never felt one had to lead to the other. Did for me but then we all have our own shit to shovel! |
